WA monthly adventure trip report

My bashed plate is bent in a bit, but that was probably from the constant plowing through the sand. I might need to make it stronger, it is just a cheap sheet of aluminum. My panels just clipped straight back into place and are ready to fall off again. The only thing that really concerned me is the scratches! Which I know none of you care about.

One day, Red, you'll just accept them, but until then, i applaud your dedication!
I've had a few ideas for stiffening your bash plate, revolving around some angle steel braces and tek screws, let me know if you want a hand.

that was not a pleasant sound around the 4 min mark :/
looks like fun though :)
is that an actual offroad area in Malaga? or just a handy sandy spot?

Its more of a handy spot. 4 min noise is tyre rub. 6:20 was panic as the rear nearly slid into the lake, only option was the "beans".

Couldn't find any Subaru's to go and test my lift kit out with, so I went with an X-Trail instead.

It was very safe to say that a Forester with a 1" lift is more capable than a stock X-trail. There were many dunes that the X-trail couldn't get up that mine did with out to much difficulty. But the driver was putting in a decent effort, must of had about a dozen shots at each of these dunes.

Beach was good fun for me until I lost the X-Trail and got bogged when I went back to look for him. Turned out he took the first possible exit while I was just going to see how far I could get. Most the beach was a lot softer than this photo, it's just this was the only place I could really stop.

All up it was a great day, even if I was the only Subie there.

Looks good with the lift, Red!
Thats the height they should've come out of the factory with!

Beaut! Looks good and nice photos. Im itching to hit up the dunes again!

And i agree with Tom :)

That foz's Red looks awesome on the dunes and the surrounding vegetation.

Cheers

And also looks way better than an x-trail.

Yeah my car definitely belongs in the dunes. And the lift looks great and drives great both on and offroad. So keen to take it back to Yeagarup.

Whens our next dune trip?

Im so keen on Lancelin! Yeagerup id like to do with a lift at least, having said that with the rains latley it shouldnt be as brutal as it was last time.

Been down Three Bears track yesterday..its as it the sand had turned to rock haha.

Love 3 Bears track...did you go all the way end to end?
How'd the OB go over the rocky bits?
