Outback '08
I thought I'd kick this journal off as both an ideas thread and a motivator to do some mods to my vehicle. :poke: It's an almost stock Gen 4 Outback 2.5 (with low range), just got a bash plate and some oversized Geolander AT/S treads on it so far. I've clocked up 120,000 kms on it and done some pretty impresive things as a stock vehicle, but I think it's time to do some work. This hit list goes something like: Subtle 1" strut lift ($225) + springs and shockers SubaXtreme front bar for some much needed approach angle correction ($2090 new) Rear bumper modification (bum job aka a hacksaw) Low range replacement, maybe a subarugearbox.com.au job? (maxtrax $299)

BeeJ XS DR Forester
Hey Guys, As promised some initial pics as purchased. 162k MY04 XS Forester Luxury Spec Build Plans Just ordered bash plate soon to order 2" sumo lift. Quick sway disconnect. Getting complete service tomoro (all fluids changed etc) Shopping for tyres atm way down the track, stereo only issues to fix (that I know of) that centre diff whine (smurfs blood), and sunroof can be troublesome and stop working and require reset (havent confirmed best approach)... Other than that seems good.
In the morning I picked up the new Forester (2.5i) from the dealer, trading in the old MY06 X. By the end of the day I'd installed the fire extinguisher, AC inverter, rubber floor mats (only made one non-critical mistake in cutting the rear ones to size), arranged the tools/recovery/etc gear in the back (most of it now fits down with the wheel under the floor!), installed small cargo net in the back (helps keep the shopping in place:)), added mounts for phone, eTrex, and UHF radio, bought and installed new roof bars (2nd-hand Thules), picked up and tested the bike carrier I'd been having converted from the old 40mm hitch to 50mm, etc. Of course that's on top of all the little things like configuring the stereo. Dropped by the dealer in...

Just a few pics of my adventures.. Steens, Oregon. Alvord desert, Oregon. Mt. Rainier, Washington.
Jimmy's 06 Forester
Well decided to start my journal. Have had the car for a while now so will try to post what I have done in order so it makes sense. 2006 MYO7 Forester XS which I bought with 52,000km on the clock back in May 2012. Was immaculate - completely stock and hadn't been taken off road. Probably paid a bit much for it but was too good to pass up. Mods/accessories that I have done so far include: Subaxtreme sump guard Yokohama Geolander ATS in size 215/65/r16 Subtle 1 inch lift blocks New KYB Struts and Dobinsons raised springs Rhino roof racks and Rola Basket Ironman Awning Car in stock form on it's first fishing trip to Salt Creek: In a very short space of time I purchased the tyres, sumpguard, racks, roof basket and awning.

Wash's 05 Foz, Sunny.
Hi Guys, I've been lurking here for a while but finally thought i'd post about my foz as I'm looking for some advice. This is Sunny: 2005 XS model I bought him with 120k in december last year. He's now up to about 144k. I live in Canberra and my main driving is to go surfing on the South Coast. I like to explore and get off the main roads which is what brings me to this forum. I'm from Melbourne and am often down there too. I'm also a freelance filmmaker and I'm often heading offroad and driving long distances for my work. I'd love to give Sunny an upgrade for offroading. I have about $2000 to spend and was hoping some of the smart humans on this site could give me some advice. Also, I have zero skills with cars besides being...

Bigcat's Journal
Hi guys, Been lurking on here for a while so finally decided to register seeing as there is such good info on here :) I'm on my second XT, this one being owned since 08. It was lowered when I bought it but I found it to scrape a fair bit on the 19's so I raised it back to stock. Then treated it to a 3inch turbo back and a Verso tune, a resinatorectomy and a K&N. It knocks out 230hp at all four wheels, which is fine for me. The rims are 19x8 HP designs in shadow chrome, plastidipped matt black. I really like them in black so I'll get them repainted/powder coated satin black soon. Just last weekend we went up to Lancelin and Wedge for a couple of days. Got the Foz up on the dunes and on the beach for a blast. Those 245/40/19 tyres...
Hey everyone, So this is my first post in almost six months I think. The last any of you would have heard of my Foz was after tackling the Gentle Annie track in Bunyip, which was a fairly extreme day that resulted in horrendous exhaust damage to the car, the front grill was ripped off and I also sustained some pretty serious panel damage. Upon returning to the forum I thought a good thread would be to start a journal of both my Forester's recovery from it's injuries and it's coming improvements. I am planning to do a fairly major trip in July/August, so hopefully I can have it running 110% by then. The exhaust has now been repaired. The diagnosis from the good people at Combined Servicing in Clayton was that the centre section of...

Greasy_Rocks
So far the Forester has done 99% of what I've asked and has shed only a few bits and pieces. It's finally time to do some real mods and get prepared for alot of seat/woods time this Spring though.:monkeydance: I started with a stock '99 w/ 140,000 miles, stock except for the full coverage hail damage. Since then we've, Changed all the fluids and filters. Full tune up. Replaced the steering rack. Added the basket and tinted the glass. Drove the **** out of it and replaced that shine with redneck pinstripin'. Lift, springs, struts and tires are at the top of the list.
my beloved impreza was KIA in may of this year <2012>, not really the way i wanted to get my forester upgrade but have it (horay!) since then took a trail run up placitas pass the back route up to sandia peek on a rainy day the weekend after i got it and sure as my impreza not the slightest slip. tent rocks 2 weeks ago but that dirt track was rather well groomed and rio chama camping run this last (jun 1) weekend, as expected (some more) its everything i wanted- now i just need to find money for the roof rack and wait very impatiently for a stateside company i like to put out a 2" lift for alittle more ground clearance... - SWEET found primitive racing thru a comment turbo posted, going to call them this week and make sure that their...
