From lowered to lifted
I posted this in the new member section but realized I should have put it here since I plan on updating it as I progress.. Hello I have a 2004 forester 2.5x manual. I have had it lowered on wrx struts with sti springs fro the last year. I do enjoy it lowered but I miss going off the pavement every now and then. I have purchased the 2inch lift blocks from Anderson https://www.facebook.com/pages/Anderson-Design-Fabrication/1458812977704910. I plan on using stock forester suspension with these blocks. I will be getting the rear trailing arm spacer before I install it also. From What I have read I really should not run into any issues with just the 2 in block. I have ready that so people run into issues of wearing out cv joints. How...
Catchya's Dak..Dak XT Forester
Hey everyone. In my search for a decent off roader, I stumbled on this little Forester that needed some urgent attention. After a quick discussion with the board of director (my wife), approval was given to pursue on the provision that I would not sell for quick profit. Deal was done and later that day my new daily sat in the driveway. Previous owners had modded the car with an unknown larger intercooler, GFB blow off valve, aftermarket cold intake and 3" full exhaust system including dump pipe. Owner also gave us the tow bar and bike rack attachment :) Leather interior, carpets and matts are still in excellent condition, everything works as it should although I have a temperamental drivers electrical window switch. Paint...

Alright! Attempt number two at a good Subaru! I just bought a 92 Brumby for my daily drive and my occasional mud skids car, I still have my Jackaroo! But it's been relegated to the "long weekends and more adventurous trips" part of my offroading adventures! It's a 92 base model with 4 on the floor and the engine was rebuilt 150 kilometres ago! Scored this baby for 2.5k! My plan is to add power steering, get muddies for the 14" rims and cheap road tyres for the 13" rims and enjoy the reliability of a Subaru once more!
Forry goes wild, live from Germany
A half year ago i was buying a 99er Forester in a very goog condition only a little bit rust in left wheelhousing. The last few days i cut off the Rust to rebuilt the Wheelhousing in the next week. I copy with Waterjet the Sumo lift kit but for rear 40mm and 35mm for the Front. Aktually I am waiting for the Ironman 35mm liftsprings for Front and rear. The original 15" Rims i rebuilt today, at the moment the Brunox Epoxy Rustpreserver is drying, and tomorrow they gos mattblack.

E.J.'s Foz
Finally got my stock '99 Forester a little dirty today in my buddies dad's bumpy pasture. Got a few mods coming down the line but I figured it would be a good idea to have a before to compare to the after. I drove it pretty conservatively today but had enough fun bouncing around the rough field and through some muddy ruts laid down by some more "serious" off-road machines. I've got a Subtle Solutions 1" lift kit on the way. Also have a buddy making me a skidplate using Frogstars design. I know most folks would start with better tires but most of our OHV trails are closed January-March. I'll probably just be driving gravel/dirt roads until spring .
Lando's Offroad Sh build
Hey guys, names Erik Lando. Long story short im 23 years old I live in Va for now soon to move to Iowa. Im engaged and I like car stuff. Ive owned 4 cars before i bought my fozzy. 94 300zx, 92 300zx Twin Turbo, 98 M3, 06 Legacy GT Spec B. Yes they were all sports cars, so what made me get a non turbo automatic 2011 forester? No my fiance is not pregnant....No Im not whipped she didnt make me buy it. I bought it because i was sick of buying an impractical sports car that took all my money to insure and fill up at the gas station plus spend thousands of dollars just to loose it all when i got bored. The Forester is non turboed so im not tempted to make it fast or loud. its auto so my road rage is not nearly as bad i just chill...
t.ridden's L series - Scooby
Hi all Having been lurking around on the forum for plenty long enough and just about to get stuck into an EJ swap into my beloved little red wagon, I figured it was about time i started my own thread! Saves me hijacking everyone else's with my questions and eeps you guys up to date :iconwink: So, introducing Scooby - I bought the 'old girl' in early 2012 while looking around for a first 4x4 of some sort, mainly for bush camping, rally marshalling and the occasional beach run. I was tossing up between a suzuki sierra/jimny or an L series and this one came up at the right price. My family had a white L series while I was little and we've always had Subarus, so I guess it was in my upbringing :p. I found her on Gumtree in a break...
01 forester, off road worthy:)
hey so i thought i would start a members journal. My name is Garrett, i am 20 years old, i live in southern california, and i love my forester to death. and just cars in general. i have been working on cars since i was a little kid and have worked on alot of cars helping out friends. Ive done everything from wiring to suspension with the help of forums like this and a little mechanical inclination;) im no mechanic, but i love learning and figuring out all sorts of installs and car problems. My foz has seriously impressed me over the past year and some change with it, it has even held its own with my friends Toyota Land cruiser and Suzuki Samurai. I have pushed it to its limits and dented the underbody but it always comes out alive...
1996 outback bg9 purchased from a family totally stock for $5500 drove it for about a year and had a slight HG leak, but was during the winter so just kept topping up until it actually blew mid summer. Decided if I was doing HG's I might as well do a full rebuild while it was at the doctors lol original plan was a jdm 2.2 but we had problems with the ecu. So then I was offered a h6 and declined it as I didnt like the fuel usage in them. Ended upo scoring a 2.5 engine that was in perfect condition that had just been serviced. So we stripped it down and rebuilt it so we knew what had been done. We also did the same with a 4eat trans, and the front and rear diffs. I got this car as it suits what I use it for cruises...
Will's H6 Outback
Since I have been doing a few more things to the outback I thought I'd start a journal. The car started off as a high kms car that I managed to pick up cheap because it had head gasket issues. The car was then converted to dual range manual and had the heads rebuilt. As it sits today it has: 2'' Crossbread body lift Raised springs SubaXtreme front bar SubaXtreme sump guard 215-70-16 BFG A/T's Dual batteries 2 way 110db stereo Roof top tent And what I have been working on this weekend... A new roof rack system. As the plastic ends on my standard roof bars where not quite up to the job of holding the tent I decided to buy some pro rack roof tracks. The tracks are bolted in place in the standard bolt positions, riveted to the roof...
Bought my fozzie a year ago for the grand sum of 3k at 245000 KMS. Just ticked over to 27000 a lot of this year has been spent in the mechanics. stiquique SF STI AT
Hi Guys. I have driving my SF STI AT in sand dunes for years! side by side with vitaras and jeeps. Very happy with the performance, and the 275 60 15 sand tires are gorgeous for this job. BUT if you dont manage the low torque at low speeds, things can go very stucked!! and sometimes i cant get off the dunes if the car is partially deep in the sand. So my way to go is put a NA Dual range in a MT turbo forester. Im not sure if the better platform to start would be a SF turbo or a SG turbo. SF has 240 hp, but the SG has a more torquei 220hp engine (JDM CARS) About the chassis, are both same strenght? or the older SF would be stronger?? Please take a look to my ride in action
Jono's 2005 Outback H6
Hi all! Thought I'd start a thread on my baby, and show a couple of the minor mods I've done...it pales in comparison to what many of you have done, but thought I'd show off my baby anyway. Purchased in 2011, with 103,000 on the clock...she's been fantastic! Love the power of the H6, it absolutely flies! Setting her up as a tourer, most for camping trips with my wife and I. So far I've added; Thule crossbars Rola Vortex rack Subaru deep dish rubber mats (already had a full sized boot tub added) Custom Neoprene black seat covers Forester XT-P rims with Geolandar G95 - hopefully some A/T-S when I can afford them! The wheels were the most recent mod, mostly as the stock OEM rims were not looking great cosmetically, and I wanted...
Founts' MY10 Forester X Columbia
Like a few others I’ve been a long term reader of the forum but have never really got around to posting anything. So I’ll try and make a few posts of small modifications. I’ve wanted a Forester for years and back in January I finally picked one up. I got a 2010 MY10 X Columbia. It’s one of the many special edition models Subaru did, basically a standard X with: Alloy Wheels Fog Lights Thule Roof Racks Rear Bumper Protector Plastic Boot Tray Columbia Boot Decal The original owner had a Milford cargo barrier and Subaru towbar fitted too. The Forester is mainly used for general driving (work commute), snow trips in winter and the occasional weekend away, but I'm looking to make the weekends a bit more adventurous. So far… External...
