Frosty Boy - Kiwi's SG Forester
Well, I thought I'd better joint this site, owning a Subaru and having offroad aspirations and all... A few weeks ago I took a bit of a roadtrip up to Alexandra in Central Otago with my Dad, and bought a 2002 SG Forester X 5sp D/R, in what is very close British Racing Green. 205,300km (after driving it for a couple of weeks). It's not perfect, having many superficial parking dents, and it does need a good polish, but it has no rust due to the dry Central climate, and it burns no oil. Most of its kms are open-road, as the previous owner spent a lot of time commuting between Dunedin and Alex for work meetings, and so it drives pretty much like new. It has factory cruise control, and optional foglights too. Picked it up for ~1/3...
Almost's '10 NA Offroader
Here is the remade thread! Since I haven't gotten a build thread on here yet, just going to post some stuff over from subaruforester.org. It is a model 2010 Forester XS, with pure N/A powah. Planned mods: Bars and Racks Sump guard and Rear skid plate. Side Steps/Rocksliders UEL Headers(if I can find some...) New axle back exhaust(new muffler or straight through) New rims and A/T tires Lights and Radio gear King springs with the Primitive gear(spacers, PRSS etc) More to come This is as it stood when I got it, clean, with no mods! :tissue: And now the bullbar is on!
Pezimm's 2007 Forester
Hey all, I decided recap my experience with my beloved Forester XT so far and revisit chapters of its journey so far. Enjoy it! Back in mid-2007 I was looking for a new car and the Forester was always high on my preference list (keep in mind I never had a Subie before, so was still looking at other brands also). I was waiting to see the new model Forester come out to compare with the current at the time and make a call on what to get. Down deep I knew I wanted the SG9 model and when I first saw the sheer size of the SH - which I thought was too big, I didn't waste any time. I was really going for the base X model - really believe me! - but I came across what is now my car sitting in Geelong and advertised for pretty much the price of...
The Salty XT
Here's some pics of my MY07 Subaru Forester XT Luxury, I bought it stock standard in April last year and have been modifying since. I have done almost all the custom work, modifications and fitted all accessories myself. There's been a lot of attention to detail to get everything looking and performing just right as this car is a keeper. I have purpose built it for beach work and towing a camper trailer with the following mods: Protection: Subaxtreme Front Bar (customised) Subaxtreme Rear Bar (customised) Subaxtreme Sump Guard (customised) Custom Lower Radiator Guard Suspension: KYB Excel G Struts Scorpion Subaru 50mm Strut lift (front) Subaxtreme 40mm Strut lift (rear) Dobbinsons Standard Springs (rear) Whiteline Camber...
Forester drawer build and trip prep
Just finished making a set of draws and getting the car ready for a trip around oz later this year in the forester. Couldn't find much info on other foresters with draws so I had to play around a bit with the brackets I made to secure the draws to the chassis and to get them to fit snug. Also put on an awning, 1inch lift in the rear, nudge bar, skid plate, Cb, spot lights and a roof top tent that I'll thow on before I go.
Subaru Forester SF.....THE RALLY WAGON
Ok so i traded my lifted awd civic and some $$$ for a Subaru Forester.... I needed something a bit nicer and bigger inside. This is what i got...... [/IMG] Drives good and starts up good. In stock form it amazes me offroad. But after driving it for a week my go to Subaru guy FastFreddy noticed that the head gasket blew, When he installed a new o2 sensor and then burnt his arm. hes a true Subaru solider. So with bad news i have to do some repair work before i install any of my other parts. I have big plans for this and i want to do it right. Wheel/Suspension plans: WRX bugeye rims, 215 70 16 General grabber AT2s, 1" Gorilla Offroad lift blocks, 1.5" ironman lift springs, SG rear struts .5", new bump stops and boots. Power/Eco...
LandCruisers Follow me: Dedman’s 99 Subaru Forester
I have been a bit slack and haven’t got around to starting member journal until now but better late than never  I had been riding an 83 Honda CX500 motorcycle for a few years since getting my licence but the lack of practicality was starting to get somewhat annoying and maybe a tad dangerous… After the motorcycle started to **** itself using oil at the same rate at petrol (not even exaggerating) and a large portion of the exhaust coming out of the radiator I decided it was time to upgrade to a car. I was going to really miss destroying people’s egos when they tried to drag you off at the lights in their sports cars and ended up getting covered in clouds of blue oil fueled exhaust smoke but the appeal of a car was...
Tigger's 2002 SF Forester
Hi All, I have been a member for a little while but haven't yet put up an introduction post... I first started in the World of Subarus in late 2002 when I first starting dating my then partner who had a 1985 Subaru RX Turbo Sedan! This is the car that stole my heart and made me the Subaru Fan I am today! Unfortunately the RX met an unfortunate end and was written off due to a car accident... :( It took me a long time to get over losing her and still feel a pang of sadness whenever I see an L Series Sedan, although the sightings are becoming rarer these days... Skip forward a number of years to 2013 when my Husband and I decided to purchase a 2012 Subaru Forester 2.0D Premium. We were hoping to get the best of both worlds...
Venoms lifted H6 Gen2 Lib
Hey guys, Thought i might share the details of my car around on here ;) I bought this in March. Flew up to Al's from AMAutos place in QLD and drove it back to Victoria with my girlfriend co-driving. This was Als personal car which he converted to a EZ30D. Pit-stop at Bennies to show off on the way back of course. I had a month wait to get into the engineers, which was worth it. Only changes required were a padded steering wheel and a quieter muffler, easy :D I had to change to stock shocks and springs for the RWC which i wasn't happy about because they were engineered. Current specs are: 2003 Outback H6 V3 STI gearbox 4.44 ratio diffs Front LSD, clutch pack Rear LSD on my desk 277mm WRX front brakes Fuel use has so far averaged...

Reberz 03 n/a forester
Hey guys! Here is my 03 auto foz! It has a 1" gorilla lift kit and 215/70r16 a/t tyres! Looking forward to modding more if the car potential is just as good. I simply cannot afford a big 4x4 cost or fuel so this may have to do! I find the open diffs a bit average though, anyone got tips about driving with open diffs? i found my lhf and rhr just burying themselves when trying to climb :(
Gidday Folks This has been an epic in the making! [EDIT] For a distillation of the design factors that I eventually came up with for my trailer and tent, see this post and the following post. The fitting and commissioning of my camper trailer tent is in a separate thread, here. [end edit] My 7x4 trailer is just over 30 years old. The tyres are also 30 y.o. ... 165x13. The wheels are possibly 20 years older than that; probably Holden rims, I don't know. About 10~13 years ago, I had the ladder frame replaced with 2x1" structural box. I also had the floor and half way up the sides replaced with 16 gauge galvanised steel. The front has been converted to a drop front. The spare wheel holder has mostly rusted through, and needs...
Doug86's XT Forester Journals
Well, I figured that I should start my own car journal. The car is a 2007 XT forester in grey. It was purchased in early 2013 second hand with about 55,000kms on the clock. The previous owner had tuned it, put a short shift kit, added a whiteline strut brace, and apparently put on a gear box from a diesel (though this is still unknown, going to check with dealer). I am planning to take it off road so I am starting to get together the bits and pieces I will need. Here is the car as I got it. Yesterday I had to drop my fiancee off in Melbourne as she is moving to the UK for 10 months. I had bought a set of 5 steel wheels from a wreckers on eBay for $100 but when i went to pick them up he had miss-placed them. After a bit of...
I have recently bought a 1997 3.1L Turbo Diesel Holden Jackaroo. It's a manual with locking hubs in the front and an LSD in the rear. It's got 223K on the clock and has been serviced since new at Holden. Current mods are: Redarc Dual Battery system, ARB compressor in the engine bay, Milford OEM cargo barrier and turbo timer. Future mods are: roofbasket with ladders, sliders/side steps, 30mm lift front and rear, replacing the 30L auxiliary tank with a 60L one, awnings on the sides and rear, Bashplate install and plenty of lights!
An Oztrail Camper 6 tent for the Ratbag's "new" trailer Gidday Folks [EDIT] I have moved all the posts to do with the trailer tent here from my trailer re-build thread here: https://www.offroadsubarus.com/showthread.php?t=3352 as this part of the continuation of my trailer saga is really quite separate from the re-design and re-build. Not sure about this, and may move it back later .... [end edit] Well, after a very long saga, nearly Icelandic ..., the Oztrail Camper 6 trailer tent, sun room and sump guard arrived today  . Very, VERY, VERY glad that I didn't try to pick it up and install it in Sydney ... It would have been an impossibility for me, even with a friend to help. After the lovely chap...
Familiar Forester, New Face - 03 Forester X
Hi All, As some of you may know, recently I picked up Andrew's 03 Forester X that he was selling. I did say that if I made any changes, I'd post an update, so that's what I'm going to do. It's only a very minor aesthetic change, but worth noting anyhow. Here is what the car looked like once it came into my possession. There was something about the look of the car I wasn't 100% on and I think I narrowed it down to the wheels. For such a nice looking car, the black steels just looked a little... cheap. No offence to Andrew and each to their own, but I think there was a bit too much black down there. I used some contacts to find a local Subaru enthusiast and managed to pick up a set of alloys off a 99 Impreza and once fitted, it...
Hi there all! As you already know me i am Ted from Greece-Athens. From the 18th of January 2013 i am a happy owner of a Forester 2,5XT MY06. The car as you saw from the pics that i have upload in the picture gallery was in a perfect condition with not many kms. The good thing is that the previous owner was a friend of mine that he first bought the car not for off raoding but because he liked it so much!! The car has never gone for off raoding or any other extreme trips until it came to my hands!! I wanted this car as i live most of the time in winter in the mountains where also i am skiing, and also for snow drift as we start a team 4 years ago with some other guys with Subarus and we develop a school for winter driving and tyre tests...
