What have you done to your car today?

G'day again SJ

Not really, certainly nothing worth showing. It was overcast with light rain/drizzle pretty much the whole time. I setup a base camp at Lake Cobbler, and just did day trips in the mist and low cloud...

Those are lovely shots, mate.

Show the ambience off very nicely indeed. Looks as if you had a very peaceful sojourn.

Glad you found the nail. Slow leaking tyres really irritate me too.
AFAIAC, a tyre should hold its pressure for about a year, at least ....
Otherwise, I take it down to the tyre doctor and get them to fix it.

Great pics sjm
I especially like the last one with the waterfall, it's an absolute beauty :raz:

Thursday 19-04-2012 I had the big 200,000 km Service done, it was 600 odd kms overdue. The workshop where I get all my work done was 1 x man down last week and they asked me if I could reschedule to help them out. The only other issue was that it needed a Neutral Switch.

Now it's good for another 200,000 kms as I did the DMF Clutch kit and new radiator & hoses at 188,500 kms & 178,000 respectively.

Been away camping for the weekend. Took the L and Davidovs Outback. The outback had one of its new struts snap and luckily ity wasn't too much work getting it out of the sand dune and back to the road.

The trustly L went extemely well and suprised all of us and a heap of guys in big 4wds with some of the stuff it could do.

I sorted out that the idleing issue is part of a vacuum line and I did a temporary fix with some ducktape. It will be sorted out this week and was nice to know its just simple.

A trip report to come..... with heaps of pics.

A lovely spot!
We were camped just up the hill from you, beside the day shelter, Labour Day weekend.

Picked up "Sheldon" (trailered) after finding out that he's seriously leaking coolant out from under the Passenger's side head.

For those that don't know Sheldon, he's my sister's "new" touring wagon - a $99 "special" (only because I found $1 under the driver's seat) - basically the previous owner couldn't move him on after driving with out oil and didn't want to see it scraped. Original offer 8 months ago was $600 but I couldn't justify it back then. So she offered $100 to me and I couldn't resist. Auto though :( And no AC but I can sort that out (later).

With some work the engine came good - had a leaking oil pump and a serious leak from the crank shaft seal. He's got a clunking knock on cold start up until the oil pressure gets up (2 - 3 seconds max), other than that the MPFI purrs along. Hopefully this issue will be an easy fix, if not it'll be heads off to see what the bigger issue is :( Will find out tomorrow after a couple of memorial services and a second breakfast.

Cheers

Bennie

Nothing major, but replaced the brake pads all around this afternoon in anticipation of a 1200-mile drive later this week. Fronts were mostly all right, but the rears had no material left on them and had started making noise a couple of days ago. Stopping when you press the pedal - what a novelty

Started fabricating a winch mount for the trunk of the forester, welded and bolted it down, dropped the spare battery in and hooked her up, should be done and painted sometime early tomo

Dodged a bullet, millions of them actually. There was a storm coming in and I was in the garage listening to the thunder, when I started hearing these infrequent snapping/popping sounds. Hastily, I rearranged the garage a bit (car is not normally parked there) and ran inside and grabbed the wife's keys. Moments after pulling Nubaru into the garage the hail hit HARD!!!

I know some of you will be able to appreciate this.:iconwink: And thankfully, YotaRu's thick skin appears to have suffered no damage.

Glad to hear that the YotaRu was able to tuff it out, thus being able to save his little friend, Nubaru :)

Almost lost Davidov's Outback off the jack stands last night when trying to install the new rear struts. God is it hard to get it in with 3" of strut lift..... the rattle gun makes life so much easier though
I was holding the roof basket and the wall to stop it from going over for a few mins until we could decide how to stop it from falling and get it stable again..

Drove the WRX through some twisty roads. Sports bikes (motorcyles) really are quite slow....I bet he got a bit of a shock when he realised he was holding me up. Great how much fun you can have close to the speed limit.

Took the Beigewagon to the car wash to high pressure clean the mud form underneath after yesterdays trip to Bunyip SP. Changed back to highway tyres, and had a look at yesterdays damage.

Looks like the bullbar pushed back onto the bumper, and also the vertical radiator supports at the bottom end left corner. I think I will have to remove the bullbar and bumper as well as the radiator to straighten it out. Radiator is not leeking, but is twisted, and fouled on the viscous fan (removed with Nachaluva's help on the track side) limped home on only the thermo fan.

Thank goodness I have the Bluewagon to get to work tomorrow.

Thank goodness you are OK. Bugger about the Beigewagon though.

Please don't tell me that you went down the Phasmid Track ....

How is NL's car?
Anyone else come with you?

I Never made it to Phasmid track, not sure if the others did after I left. Looks like the Bunyip SP thread is following the action.

had a go at wiring up some spotties but I ran into some trouble with finding the correct wire to run to the switch in the dash.... I tried to take one from the head lamps but they were all doing things I wasn't expecting. I found one that worked with the high beam as desired... but if I leave the spotty switch on and turn on the head lights on the stick the spotty comes back on when everything else is off. Weird, no?

Oh man, bummer. Hopefully you were having fun when the damage occurred, and hopefully the Beigewagon is back up and running properly soon.:)
