What have you done to your car today?

Back in Perth from my trip home for Easter. Had a nice week there which was awesome... got sun burnt (as usual), went to the beach, went fishing, took the boat out, rebuilt the boat trailer with the help of dad(his boat :() and just relaxed
Great to hear you had a safe trip taza :) & some well earned R & R

As of today... Nothing.

But I have updated my journal, a little later than other forums due to time constraints but it's more concise :D

Yesterday, gave the 'car' a wash and went to the local Dealer for their 10th Birthday at their current location. Didnt take a Subaru, as it is the local Holden Dealer, so I took the HR.

Couple of pics.

Got to see Garth Tander, and spoke to Jason Bright for a few minutes. I know Jasons parents, as they live only a few kms form me.

Beigewagon.

hey Bennie: good luck with that.

Pete: the HR looks fantastic.

That HR is a beauty & looks like it's in great nic too Beigewagon

As for me, nothing major, just did a quick oil change on my Forry :)
Now she purrs & runs nice 'n' smooth again

Today I finished cleaning up the interior a little bit on the Justy. I also started doing mockup for some heavy fender trimming :lildevil: I should be able to clear a 26-27" tall tire on 14's without a lift at all, only fender trimming. If this is the case, the tires will lift me about 2" and with some strut mount spacers maybe an additional 1" or so. That should be more than enough clearance for the trails I plan to hit

Changed fuel filter in the foz. Hasn't been done in 100,000km. Made a good noticable difference in power and economy
Also ran through a can of SUEC and smoked out the whole street literally

Nice ute, Beigewagon!

Had to do a double-take on it. Looking at the thumbnails I thought it was a Subaru Brat imported from the USA.

Thanks guys. I restored it about 15 years ago. For our American, and other OS members, this is a 1967 Holden utility, or ute for short (General Motors pick up). It kept me both busy and poor for about 3 years.

purchased new thule aero roof racks for the roof top tent today. $233 i thought it was a good price.
also brought some snow chains seeming the snow season is coming up!:monkeydance:

Bargain! You won't be disappointed, they're a great rack.

The rubber on top gets squashed around when you put a load on it but it bounces back again pretty well.

I wish we got snow to play in over here.

How do snow chains go in mud?

i wanted thule because i have only heard good things about them. the snow is great (just not to ride a motor bike live and learn). i would say you could snow chains in mud if you got desperate.
WA may have the beaches but we have the high country +1 for vic!

Oh YEAH!

Thule is the way to go! I decided to go with 4 crossbars instead of 2, after completely bending 2 pairs of subaru crossbars, I decided to try the thule crossbars, and havent had a problem since!

Depends on the mud. I reckon I've used mine more often on clay/mud than I have in snow, but it needs to be thick, sticky stuff. Very wet, runny mud, and they probably wouldn't help, unless you were bottomed out on the hard stuff.
