What have you done to your car today?

Got my oil pressure checked by my machanic after the cracked sump guard and dented sump. 1/4 of the oil flow was being restricted. The sump was up against the oil pick up. Thank god I didnt ignore that
Dent was bashed out and oil put back in. Theres $400 gone along with paying my $150 fine.
... and to top my day off my leave to go away for a holiday, to Walga Rock with the Subie 4WD club of W.A and to go to Perth and get my lift and new springs done has been revoked due to the boss being away the same week. We cant have 1 person in the office for a whole week :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored:

So im broke and my leaves been taken away from me. I have been waiting all year to go away :furious::censored:... Not happy at all!

Watched the Green machine being driven onto a tilt tray today and taken to the Auctions... have the plates and rego label so will cash them in for a commiserative bottle of something nice.

Well, even though it cost you some $$$ you weren't prepared for, glad you got the sump taken care of, could have caused much bigger problems down the line.

Now I'm not much of one to raise a stink at work, but if they approved your leave and didn't check the schedule isn't that their mistake that they should figure out how to fix? Don't do anything to put your job in jeopardy, but I think they should figure out another way around the problem.:furious:

and after my SH*T day at work on my way home I was nearly T-Boned on the drivers side of my Foz.
I know how you feel taza, there's too many dickheads on the roads these days :eviltoyou:
It sounds like my day on Thursday last week :catfight:
Just missed a pushbike (less than 1 mtr (3ft) that pulled out in front of me at an intersection on the way to work. It was dark (5.45am) & he had no lights or reflectors on & was wearing dark clothing :censored: idiot :yell:
Then on the way home I was almost sideswiped by another dumb :censored: driver. Had to pull left & clipped the gutter to avoid them :furious:
Then, sadly I hit a Galah (Aust bird) after doing my daily shopping. Luckily for it I just clipped it's tail feathers & he/she survived (minus a few tail feathers of course) & gets to fly another day :)

Best to get the problem sorted now with the sump & oil. Last thing you want to happen is an engine failure whilst you're out on the tracks (offroad) miles from anywhere.

I agree carljwnc. They approved your leave & in doing so, they should honour it.

Yeah im glad about the sump and getting it fixed. $400 is better than $4000 for a new engine :raspberry: Just glad I had a sump guard and didnt mislook about getting it checked out.

The rest of the day was yeah, pretty bad. Im going to take it up with the big boss tomorrow.... not looking forward to it but I want my holiday and have been waiting months. I wont be stupid about it but im just very annoyed. A mate had even gotten time off work so we could go away for the week and my car is booked in for the lift and springs. I had also planned to catch up with my brother for his birthday who I havent seen in 6 months and meet a heap of guys from the Subie 4WD club of WA and AusSubaru and some of the guys on here.

Im sick of waiting for my lift too but I guess all good things you have to wait for  think ive calmed down abit now.

Cheers

Hopefully your boss (big boss) has a change of heart & re-approves your leave. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :)

Not likely Damian, he doesn't care much for the ICT department but who knows tomorrow might be my day since today has'nt been. I would feel bad leaving one of my work colleagues alone (so 1 person for the whole department) for a whole week since we are and have been a person down for over a month. The workload is too much to handle for the 3 of us as it is. Might be able to work something out though...

I did organise something at work. I can get half my leave then 2 weeks off (paid) at the end of next month :raz: Still annoyed but atleast I can now go on the trip with the Subie 4WD club of W.A to Walga Rock and still go to Perth for my lift and new springs. Perth is just going to be a rushed trip and I will have to drive back the same day as my lift and springs go in.
Might do some offroading just off the highway on the way back :iconwink:

Oh and on my way to work I had some Tos*er reverse into me. Luckily my number plate is only dented and he realised that I was behind him after slamming my horn for a good few seconds. No body damage atleast. and again many bad words were yelled.

What a week! Looking forward to the weekend :raspberry:

Good to see that they at least honoured some of your leave now :iconwink:
Even though it's only about half now & half later, it's better than nothing (still thing they should've honoured all of it in one go though)

Wish you'd clipped the son of a *****.

That's like a guy in bendigo that almost ran into me - both of us were turning right at a set of traffic lights after the red light. No other cars to worry about so I headed for my right turn in the wet intersection, only to see halfway through the intersection that the other fella who was turning right switch his indicator off as he tried to pass through the intersection.

I gunned it to no avail of moving any faster. That guy honked me something bad - I was so furious for the first time ever in my years of driving (I sound sooo old!). If he had've followed me I would have given him a piece of my mind.

I'm still pissed about it! Just glad that there was no crash in the whole thing.

Oh, and Ruby Scoo rolled over 446xxx on the way back to hotham :D

Cheers

New front drive shafts fitted today and now no shudder from the uni joints. The 2nd replacement for the ones I put in in January. Both replacements at no cost to me.

So i see America is not the only place with those a**holes on the road! Over here they want the same rights as cars, "share" the road, but then the f****** idiots do not want to obey the same laws. They just roll on through intersections at red lights & stop signs! I have no problem with cyclists that use common sense, but the other deserve to be road kill.

Reminds me of a story on the news here about a year ago in Austin (cyclist are horrible here since this is where lance armstrong lives/trains). A Austin police officer had a green light going through an intersection when a cyclist coming t he other way blew threw his red light & got mowed down by the cop! It was awesome. Needless to say the hippies were mad & tried to file suite, but the judges threw their cases out. Just a bunch of flippin idiots.

i feel ya mr turbo. I never knew how bad it was until moving to the Austin area.

Tried to drive the Foz with no front or rear sway bars. Its scary around town when you race foot flat through each corner now on a 45degree angle :raz: Im crazy I know :lildevil: Even worse on the highway. Both are back on now with quick disconnects

Rebuilt my Sub Box so it fits under my rear pull over blind in the boot. Spare wheel is now back in the spare wheel well where the Sub was for a short time  Thanks Dad for your crafty carpenter skills!

Havent you got them Damian? They are great means you can leave your sway bars on on road and still experience the comfort from your Subaru. Then when you go offroad almost double your articulation and get the most from your suspension setup. I got the idea from a guy over at SubaruForester.org

And to leave them permantly off means that your on road handling is sh*t, its illegal as it makes your vehicle less safe and if you have to turn sharp or swerve there is a lot greater chance of rolling. Takes about 3-4mins to disconnect the lot and if you want cable tie the swaybars up and out of the way so they dont bang about. Then about 5mins to connect them as the R clips can be a pain to get back on when not on a flat surface.

I will post some picks tomorrow. Cost me about $30 to put the little kit together. It basically consists of 4 Clevis pins to replace the bolts, a few bunnings washers and 4 R clips.

Taza
