What have you done to your car today?

Good idea @ABFoz Do you also use the bleeder valve on the heater hose or did that change with your model?

I wonder why - may have been the accountants that removed it! I find it very handy when changing the coolant.

Yes, that one is very handy. Older models have it still. Even newer models from other manufacturers do not hve them anymore. I think it is similar to the fate of the transmission dip stick. New cars don't have them anymore.

I left my lights on all day ;( Zero dash lights with the ignition on...

Got a jump start from Mrs El_Freddo, all good. Parked on a slope in case the old EA81 won’t turn over in the morning...

Cheers

Strip it ! I will keep the engine and whats around the engine plus some suspension parts but not the transmission as it has a 4EAT.

after buying car i know that you need to change all oils in it but i changed both diff oils just today. so now engine changed, coolant changed and now both diff changed. now tires or bearing in front started to howl pretty loud. damn.

There's not much that can be done with a 4EAT, unless it's a direct swap in the same model, as the TCU communicates with the ECU. Some people have done a cross model 4EAT swap but that was with a lot of electronic/electrical surgery.

Is the 4EAT doing OK? Just curious as before being called bulletproof, Subaru had a fair share of growth pains with the 4EAT development. Cheers.

Well there you go. I never knew that was there! how do you open that, just with a screwdriver?

Finished fitting the bar today.

Yes, it works just fine. That Legacy even has oem pneumatic suspension but it doesn't work, there must be a leak somewhere....

Installed a Alternator off a H6 Outback into the XT. Straight bolt in, just need to swap the pulley over (XT is 4 Rib, Outback is 5 Rib). This brings the output of the alternator up to 140amp from the XTs 90amp. In preperation for a dual battery setup

Ooh... I think Ruby Scoo just got a new item on her parts mod list (it’s pretty small these days...)

Also I think I quoted the Amps wrong, SG is 75amp (STI is 90 amp), and the H6 is 110 amps.

It's a straight bolt in once you swap the pulley (which is optional to swap anyway). You also need to make sure you adjust the battery cable position (there is two positions for the post on the alternator)

Wow air suspension that would be cool to modify some for offroad maybe.

SG workshop manual says 90 amp

But my owner's manual says 75 amp? I've always thought is was 90 amp for some reason.
