What have you done to your car today?

This is what I have already done, with the new intercooler:

Holy cow I think I just wet my pants! Is this for an on road subi? Whats the rest of it look like?

Cheers

Bennie

The car actually appears on the ORS banners. Mainly on road, but it has had some time off road.

And with some recently acquired bigger rims

Got the Foz back from All Drive Subaroo today after it's been "hospitalised" for a few weeks for major surgery. Rebuilt motor, transfer case and front diff, replaced tranny. Purrs like a kitten now - they do good work! They also replaced all the tranny lines and sealed the timing cover to keep the crap out.

yesterday my m8 Pete helped me put my winchbar on
for those interested ARB quoted me $2200.00 fitted with foglights & indicator combo
TJM quoted me $1550.00 fitted with indicator combo
I ended up getting the TJM T15 winchbar for $1300.00 supply only

Your car seems to have more ground clearance than mine.

well you kinda get that when you buy a 3" lifted patrol

oh & when the loan for this trol of mine is nearly paid off I'm gonna finally hunt for a used subi outback(automatic) in good condition for a daily driver
I reckon by the time I've paid the trol off I should be able to find an outback for a fairly good price

Did Nubaru's first oil change last night.:) With no belly pan (I have mixed feelings about this) it's even easier than the older models.

Tips; First OC drain plug is painted on and filter is cranked on from the factory, make sure you've got some leverage available.

I've always done changes when the car is hot to get out as much old oil as possible, no problem for draining, BUT you have to let the car cool down to get to the filter, it's now surrounded by new header routing, don't burn yourself.

Dual battery wiring.

Yesterday:

  • Fitted the LED brake light globes (one of the old brake globes had already blown)
  • Fitted the dual battery solenoid 'black box' on top of the fuse box.
  • Bent an aluminium bracket to hold the 50amp circuit breaker.
Today:

  • Fitted the bracket and 50amp circuit breaker to mounting nuts on the wall of engine bay, just aft of the fuse box.

Withdrawal symptoms ...

Sunday:
Was wash time.

Monday:
Dropped off for repairs of the hail damage.

Pick up 2 weeks tomorrow.

thinking of leaving the stainless snorkel for my vit/trol project & just going to TJM & getting them to fit one of their snorkels.

Looks good Jon - my Triton sliders are at the body shop for painting.

Foz went back to Alldrivesubaroo yesterday - since the rebuild "something" is binding so AWD is not working properly.

Well strictly speaking, it wasn't today, but over the last week; On Wednesday I bought myself a new Waeco 40L fridge, because eskies and 'floating food is not fun!' After 2 weeks in outback NSW and QLD. Next thing is to buy a 2nd battery for it, and fit it in the car (likely to be put in place of rear seat). I've been advised of an N50 75AH battery... What does everyone think?

Regards,

Joel

^ go for a 100 amp hour Joel; it will give you plenty of juice for a rest day or two. Mine sits in the rear foot well.
