What have you done to your car today?

Will check it out tomorrow, hopefully its just a loose connection.

Took a look under the bonnet today to work out whats wrong with the knock sensor, had a 'well theres ya problem moment'...knock sensor has split in half.

^ That's a really subtle, difficult fault to diagnose, Id ... :rotfl:

Glad that it was so straightforward, mate.

Suffered separation anxiety from Scooby2. She has been holed up in Canberra without me for two weeks. Could be awhile til I see her again...........

^ Sorry to hear that, S2 .

What's the problem?

RB... No problem. She's loaded to the gunnels and is the first wave of a covert moving operation. I backloaded a ute and trailer in her place. At least she s got a carport to protect her from the frost!

Best regards

making progress! wrapped up exhaust construction out of odds, ends, and a few new bits today, and now it's pleasantly quiet despite the snarly UEL rumble courtesy of ebay.

most of the fixing is over with, thankfully, so now i can move on to fun stuff like the interior and gps and cb and all that nonsense

Tuckerbag delivered the series II SG Forester SubaXtreme bullbar he purchased on behalf of an unknown forum member.
What a very kind and generous-hearted thing to do!  :bananapartyhat:.

The beneficiary of his kind thought happened to be me ultimately ...
:bananatoast: :woohoo:

:yourock: TB

SF Forester generally doesn't have variable speed intermittent wipers: a minor irritation.

While I was at wreckers I picked up a wiper switch from an SG for $30. Three screws to dismantle the steering column cover, two screws to take out the old switch, one plug to disconnect and plug into new switch. I now have variable speed intermittent wipers. Really simple job.

INTERNETRACECAR, looks great, just needs a lift :lildevil:

Excellent mod, I'll have to do that for sure!

Cleaned the cabin pollen on the SH. You would have thought half the Yarra Ranges National Park was in there!!
No wonder the windscreen kept fogging up.
Hosed it, then put it in the sink and washed it, then used the hair dryer to dry it. Good as new.

Good stuff, mate.

Now for the lift kit and sump guard (bash plate)! Liberty/Legacy models are not renowned for their approach and departure angles. Neither was my 1993 Impreza ... :(. It was also remarkably capable, just needed to be very careful about clearances!

Finally fixed my reverse lights! As i thought was the switch on the gearbox that was broken, wired in the replacement(which i got off Dedman sometime last year, thanks btw) doesn't leak gearbox oil when taken out which was a plus. Now I can leave in the morning without riding the brakes so i can see whats behind me.

New house has no where to weld which sucks, since I've not got all the parts to build my rear wheel carrier. Going for one that will sit under the factory bumper.

EDIT: New radiator is on its way now as well!

Big service done, a little early @ 205 000 km's, could have gone another five, but anticipating big mileage in the next couple of months so rather safe than sorry. Full Timing belt kit with tensioners etc, water pump, other ancillary belts, front brake pads, all fluids and filters incl gear and rear diff. $900 US which I think was reasonable. On a side note, replaced the aircon pollen filter, best $15 i've spent. Blows like hell now

Blown the "Cruise" indicator when trying to sort out the wiring issue for my led light bar :poke:
No fuse blown though :ugeek: so not sure what went wrong
