What have you done to your car today?

I almost got hit my a p plater in a ute doing the same thing t.ridden, good it worked out in the end. Then again people here are nuts, won't walk 10m to the pedestrian crossing, and then just walk out in front of cars.

Today i lowered blinky, took out the lift kit and it's on the bench for some modifications when i've some more time.

If the pencil beams fit inside the roo bar, what about putting them there & the bigger lights up top? They seem a bit vulnerable poking out the front.

But perhaps WA drivers are a bit better than Melb drivers lol :shake::rolleyes:

They do fit, but there's a few reasons why I prefer the bigger ones on the bar.
1) the bigger ones are a spread/driving beam, so if they were on the roof i'd get horrible bonnet/roobar glare.
2) roof lights are a sore point with the cops over here, so if i get told to take them off, i'd like to keep the bigger ones
3) i did try the bigger ones on the brackets after you mentioned this, they wobble worse than....(insert extremely wobbly thing here)

but yes, a new front bar is in the "designed and waiting for money" phase, to fit the bigger lights more comfortably, more on that when it happens ;)

Also, new ARP wheel studs just arrived, so those will be going in as bearings fail at each corner and the hubs have to come out!

People will start calling me Ben Hur with these suckers poking out from my wheels

The Garwoman was disfunctional! I was lost! Blardy cigarette lighter packed it in, but a trip to our friendly auto electrician... am found now! Whatta relief!

Best regards,

New rubber today. BF Goodrich AT 215 75 15 all round. the Coopers on the front wore out completely, but the old BFG's on the back are still going, even though they had been on the car some time before I got it. Clearly the BFG's last longer.

Decided not to go wider on advice from Ralf at TruTrack: reckons too much stress on suspension components.

the off to TruTrack: had some work done a while ago and Ralf wants to fine tune it. While he's at it I've asked him to repair an annoying front brake rattle. Rattles on fine bumps, which means as soon as I get on gravel it rattles. Has done it since I got the car, and no mechanic has been able to fix it. Could be slider pins, could be the calipers themselves. I KNOW its the brakes because when I apply them the rattle stops.

If al else fails, he'll put new calipers on: should be free because he said he has a few laying around from fitting brembos to other subies.

Interesting. I've ran my 225/70r15's for almost 2 years now and have just had to change 3x of my wheel bearings that were shot.
You like the BFG's then Dulagarl? How many km did you get from the last set?

Dropped her off at the mechanic. Poor car took such a beating this weekend

(a) yes, they last longer than the Coopers, and the tread pattern is a good compromise. When I had steel wheels I didn't like them on sand, because the rim protector would bulge out and collect sand, leading to bead leaks. Now that I have the Audi rims, the rim protector sits beautifully.

(b) short answer is don't know because I don't know when the previous owner put them on, but when I put the coopers on the front, I had done about 15,000 on the BFG's. Simple equation is they went on before the coopers, and lasted longer than the coopers.

Yep the raised ones!

I allready have 2cm lift and that + de raised kings

probably the only lifted forester in Holland
