What have you done to your car today?

4 new BFG AT's fitted (21575R15); ride is noticeably softer as the old tyres had hardened

Nice one Kevin. Would love to see a pic!! Have you had those tyres before? I've got those exact same tyres on my Suby XT right now. Love them!

Since having my Forester, it has always bugged me that the map lights in the front don't come on when you open the door and only the rear cabin light does.

So today I followed a how to guide from ozfoz, on making it all work. Just needed a couple of diodes soldered to the map lights in the front and a cable run to the cabin light.

Best 40 minute job I have done on the car.

I think this mod has been around for a long time, but if anyone one wants details just let me know.

Nice one

OzFoz also has a DIY for SF Forries to make the indicators flash when locking the car. Im not confident enough to try it though lol

New oil filter and oil went in blinky today along with an air filter.

Still to go in next week. New plugs, all new rad hoses, fuel filter, coolant flush and new coolant, thermostat, and some new mud flaps to replaces to torn up oem ones.

And that should finish up the 250,000 km service. Still strong on compression and had the rad pressure tested, running bloody great. Bring on 300,000km, and I'll treat blinky to a new clutch

update, new plugs going in tomorrow! current ones are well past over due have a 3mm gap  should be 1.1.

Oops

When you do your service, do you use SUEC? Its part of the recommended servicing, every 12,500kms :poke:

Should be done before the oil change :iconwink:

I was told by the dealer that it had iridium plugs in it when i got the car at 140,000km so I've complacently not bothered checking. I think he lied to me :madred:

@ NachaLuva , I haven't been too many horror stories about it destroying engines. Get's a good boot onto the freeway every now and again though.

EDIT: New plugs in.

Today I bought an other car for my wife in todays auction at my work. She is driving honda crv but that car has a serious rust problem.
The car I bought is a 2001 subaru forester with a lpg system and only 169000km. A nice car without dents or so for only 1650 euro.

Her honda has new tyres and they are the same size as the fozzy, so i let them swap the tyres before I gonna sell the honda.

The "new" fozzy has original aloy's, so i am thinking to mount the alloys at my fozzy, with the AT2 on them. The suby steelrims on my car are real mudtraps and quite annoying if you drive home after an offroad event. The only thing is that that those original alloys are quite ugly imho. Hmm maybe i paint them black or so.

Yeah the steelies are a real mud trap, plus they're so heavy. It really saps the limited power of the EJ20 :(

You'll have to put up a pick of the alloys. My old alloys from an gen1 Outback were nice.

In other news, I replaced the LHS inner CV boot with some help from El Freddo...thanks mate ;)

Waiting for another kit to do the RHS...
