What have you done to your car today?

But I thought you were putting EJ20 heads on the EJ25 block...or did I get something wrong there? Very nice mate, bet you cant wait to put it all together & in your Foz :monkeydance:

Well, where do I start.
I had the big one (service) done today & lets just say it cost a pretty penny...or was that two

All oils were replaced :)
All filters (except cabin air filter) were replaced :)
New sparks, new timing belt & pulleys etc.

Had the cam & crank oil seals changed aswell while they were at it ;)

I had the water pump replaced too while they were in the general area. Since it wasn't replaced last time (at timing belt change) & it (water pump) was now 8 years old, I thought it was wise to do so :iconwink:

I also had the radiator hoses changed too, as they were starting to get a little softish, not overly so, but they were starting to.
As I didn't replace the hoses when I put the new radiator in (12 mths ago) it just made sense to have them done whilst they were draining, flushing & replacing the coolant etc.

Hopefully that will be it for a while touch wood
But then again, I (together with a few others on here) know how I drive

Mr Turbo

"Find something else to pick on now Nacha!" ^

Mr T - all set for the Abercrombie thrashing eh!

The tubes look great stilson :)

Adding to the work I had done today, I forgot to say I also had it washed aswell, both inside & out   :surprised:

And yes Kevin, I'm ready alright :raz: vroom, vroom, woooosh :lildevil:

I'd suggest using the medium strength Locktite (or similar) to put on the threads when you do up the bolts/nuts. It stops the bolt/nut from ever working loose even with severe vibrations. It also has an added benefit of helping to prevent rust in the thread between the nut & bolt

The Last Week

I didn't do all of this today, but rather in the last week.
  • New tires: 235/60R17
  • New wheels: Drag DR-38
  • New horn: Hella TE16 (louder)
  • New tint front windows: whatever percentage is legal in Texas
  • Replaced the PlastiDip on the grill and bumper cover with spray-on bed liner. It looks better and should hold up better.

1. Part of the exhaust heat shield fell off for some reason !? But I don't really care (afaik it doesn't really change anything?) and it made the metallic rattle stop, so...

2. Front O2 sensor engine code. Which sucks, but I'm kinda happy at the same time as I've had crappy mileage for a while, so that might be the excuse for me to finally replace it

3. Windshield crack is getting f*** huge.

4. Driving/drifting on a frozen river is awesome.

Hit 201,000km today while heading home from tafe

Started making bumper replacement spare wheel carrier for an SF5

Working on finishing building my EJ25 swap

Found the problem to my engine running rough... turns out the timing belt has jumped a few teeth causing one of the cams off slightly..

Thats great news OutbackOiler :)
Hopefully the new one will work properly without leaking :)
