bought new rack end boots to replace with the new cv joints up front.

wondering what to do about the front shocks topping out all the time with the raised springs.

Replace them when they get destroyed and then fit standard height springs? :raspberry::poke::raspberry:

I used these paint pens from eBay https://bit.ly/TOiRJV
It took less than 2 to do all 4 tyres and the black one is for correction but a permanent texta works better as the black mixes with the white creating grey even when dry. Also it doesn't work as well if you colour the letters in just the outline. And pull the little bits of rubber off that hang out before you start.

been busy the last two days. been preping the rooftop tent to go on the SG forester for our 2 week trip in tassie in december. got it on with only a few scratches that i will have to touch up :(:sadbanana: still haven't got the awning on but that will be on soon as i need to mod the brackets. also ran a can of SUEC in the SG today, not a lot of smoke.

Blown the rear diff in the Foz :surprised:   :censored: :yell:

so you dont reccomend doing reverse donuts? :rotfl:

nah im sorry to hear taza, have you ever changed the oil in the diff?
i did think when you were hearing a wine the other week it could be the diff, im sorry i was right :raspberry:

is it fixable? if so might be a good time to get the locker in or LSD

How did that happen?

I dunno, I haven't been offroad in over 2 months and onroad is just normal driving.

Yes the diff oil has been changed earlier this year and yesterday now. However it was milky and about 8 spider teeth came out with it :(
I don't think it was the reverse donuts. I'm almost 100% sure it isn't. I think it has happened when offroad, obviously when doing a rocky hill climb I have gone up fast/hard, not made it and the car has fallen in a hole. The pressure from the wheel spinning at 5000rpm the hitting a rock hard has broken the gears.
This has happened heaps offroad and I'm 100% sure it's the only way it could of happened, but hell that is a sh1t load of force to break a diff!!! :0

Damn Taza, that sucks. What caused the failure? I take it the whine was coming from the diff then?

Yep that is exactly where the whine and clunking are coming from. Refer to Thunders comment.

I have sourced another rear 4.11 diff which I know is in good condition. I can have it for $100 and will install with a rear LSD at the same time.
For the time being though the car is driveable, I have changed the oil and flushed out the diff housing.

Glad to hear that it is still drivable, even if only for the time being :)

While you have everything out, it might be a good time to add a breather aswell :iconwink:

Regards
Mr Turbo
