What have you done to your car today?

Did some measuring and drawing of plans for my Justy lift I think I am going to make some simple 1" strut spacers first, then if all goes well some subtle lift blocks for the subframe as well. I am only looking for enough lift to clear my 185/65R14 Arctic Claw's. (I am sitting @ 8" of diff clearance, going for 10"-12")

Picture warning!

I get excited every time I see a post about the justy.

I got a heap of cool stuff from Theretrofitsource.com today.

Mate, that's not how I remember seeing the Blue Fox ... :rotfl:

Unreal. The Blue Fox with its clothes off! More car porn, LOL!

I know you know how to put it all back together again. I used to get great pleasure from these sorts of modifications when I was your age. Terrific fun!

These days, I am glad that our two just work ... :iconwink:

On the way to Geelong by train. :( on my Rostered Day Off - FFS! - to pick up Charlie with his new rear wheel bearings.

My Foz's new motor ticked over 200,000km the yesterday. My foz itself hit 190,000km and so far everything has been replaced. lol

Started pulling apart my old motor to find sand in the block and manifold :surprised:

I swapped cars with my mate just to see what she looked like from the outside  Very high I must say :lildevil:

hell yeah taza looks like a lil monster trk . didnt you say you were about 350 mm ?

Installed my new headunit... Man, rewiring that stuff was a ****ing pain in the donkey for me (never done that before!). Thankfully, I only had one burn on a finger

Everything seems to work great! I just gotta get the plastic pocket that fills the now empty space, but paying 30$ for that thing seems ridiculous.

The garage should swap my old, no-name catalytic converter for a Subaru one, used but which seems to be in good shape. I'm hoping that'll help me get better mileage (right now I'm doing 13L/100km on average... I was doing 11L when I bought it last year).

And I'm hoping I can get some help to finally(!) wire the damn Hellas before I go spend a couple days in the backcountry next week.

^ Nice work fly  What head unit did you get? Touch screen, double din or single?

My new'ish head unit keeps playing up. Its a Sony and is only 2 years old :(

Today I gave the foz a service. New wiper blades installed too, ran a can of SUEC through, cleaned the O2 sensor (was black as hell), took the whole exhaust off and got rid of every bit of heat shield that can possibly rattle with the grinder.
I now have not one rattle or squeak from the car other than a few minor interior plastics that are slightly loose

I got one used off Kijiji for 60$. JVC DEH-2100IB. Nothing fancy, but all I really wanted was something with a real AUX input and not using the crappy cassette adapter... but it does sound slightly better than the OEM one. Came with the universal harness (universal aka not compatible with Subaru, hahaha) and a plastic pocket for some other car... I'll try to dremel it and make it fit before I shell 30$ for the "official" one.

Would've liked a huge double DIN one... but at around 400$, I'd rather put that money one decent offroad tires instead ;) I have an Android tablet (A500), so I might get a tablet mount to go with it... 10in moving map goodness :D If I do, I'll change the ScanGaugeII for one of the OBDII Bluetooth dongles to go with the tablet instead. IMHO that'd be better than a double-din setup that stays in the car forever^^

I decided to give the old girl a bit of a treat, plus the cat had decided to detach itself from the rest of the exhaust when driving home the other day. So new aftermarket cat, genuine subaru thermostat & timing belt, water pump and all idlers/ tensioner.

This is what happened after I misplaced a wheel and came down hard on the exhaust. Fixed it for a few a month with a jubilee clip and then it fell apart.

The new and old cats, plus o2 sensor which looked pretty good

All the bits taken off and swapped out

Not too bad a job. took me a while to realise fitting the timing belt is way easier once you take the bottom idler off 1st and then refit.

Like Taza, the car sounds nice and rattle free since taking some heat shields off and clamping others up with jubilee clips

Just got to do rocker/ plug gaskets, as found oil in one of the plug tubes. Fingers crossed that is all for a while now. Quite satifying when it all worked after!!
