What have you done to your car today?

Just found out that while I'm home, some a*** h0** has backed into my L-Series and smashed it up real good on the drivers side :eviltoyou: No note left or anything :madred::furious: I know it's only a cheap old car but the principle is still there!

My house mates might have a lead though on a company car...

Wish I was back now so I could deal with this s**t :censored: :yell:

Atleast on the good part is that the tornado that went though my suburb this afternoon missed my street and didn't take my L-Series away. Kind of wish it had though so insurance would pay out :(

Some people really just have no respect and I hope something bad happens to them!

Yep. But this time it was in day light.

The main problem is that I'm currently home, 700km away and not back until the weekend.

that does suck, sound like you need to move to a back street with less traffic
if it makes you feel better my brumby was driven into by a ride on lawn mover at home! just cant win!

Sorry to hear about the hit run on your L Series taza :sadbanana:
I know exactly how you feel mate.
The same thing happened to my work van around 20 years ago :yell:

Just remember, life is like a wheel. What goes around, comes around.
I'm sure that scumbag will get their's one day :mob:

Regards
Mr Turbo

Gotta drive back to Perth tomorrow. 650km, winds of upto 80km/hr and rain with no swaybars on the foz :( Certainly going to be interesting, wonder if the car will even get upto 110km/hr with winds like that

Fixed the rust on the roof of the foz today. Pic's to come in a few days :raspberry:

One time when I drove to Canberra in very high winds I had to slow down. The wind was so bad it sucked/blew the windows out! Not out of the car- just moved them so the roar was terrible

Wow, that must of been windy. Was that in your Falcon? I'm prepared to go slow, I'd rather get there in the arvo then not at all!
I don't think my car will even get upto the sleep limit if the winds are going against me :(

Some very wise words there!

I don't think my car will even get upto the sleep limit if the winds are going against me :(

But I'm worried about this "sleep limit"!!

Safe travels mate!

Cheers

Bennie

Nope- this year in the Forrie. Side winds never bothered the Falcon

Taza, any more news on the L? How did your drive go?

Perth had another tornado last week and a severe storm yesterday, people over east prob wont know Perth gets tornados every year!

Yeah I got back yesterday. Ended up doing about 9-10hours of driving(almost 800km) as I had to go down south to so I could check out another L aswell. Was pretty buggered after the drive. It was raining nearly the whole time and the wind was hideous. Had to sit between 80-110km/hr nearly the whole way. The worst part is I thought it would be a good idea while I was home to put my 'loud' straight through muffler on(for sh1ts and giggles) that I originally took off due to being too loud. With the drive it was a very loud drone all the way, giving me a really bad headache by the evening.... I still have it today :(

The damage isn't all too bad. Will need a new roo bar, headlight/indicator and it's then drivable. The bonnet and front fender are bent too but I don't have the $$ to replace them :(
I might be able to find out the company car that did the damage but for the time and phone calls it will take me (strata companies, rental places, etc...) I really can't be ****ed. They would probably tell me I can't prove it anyway.

Yes the tornado was only 2 streets away from my house :( Next will be hail and it will wreck all my cars or one will be stolen. Something along those lines, it would be just my luck! I wake up each morning just dreading that something has happened to one or both of my cars :(

Thats still a fair bit of damage but it could have been worse...b*****ds :yell::furious:

Lets hope not Taza. were you home for the tornado? Would be an interesting experience...

Helped Kizzoid put my SubaXtreme sump guard on her Foz the other day...
Modifying it to fit her '03 from my '97:

Getting her new overalls dirty :lildevil:

The final fitment, ready to hit the dirt:

It took a while, trimming it down to fit inside the narrower subframe on the '03 compared to the '97 rails. But now she's nicely protected for her trip on the sand tracks near Mildura

Oh dear, oh dear ...
Now your baby hasn't got any sump protection ... :iconwink: ;)

You might just have to investigate one of those nice drawn alloy ones the guy here in Victoria makes ...

Personally, and after a lot of thought about it, I wouldn't put a steel guard on our cars, even when no air bags to consider. The guard may be so rigid that hitting something very hard could deform the frame - a bucket load more expensive to repair than even fixing the entire engine!

The drawn sheet alloy guard would seem to be a very good compromise.
It will tend to deform more than a steel guard, and therefore offer more shock absorption. Even if only made from 'soft' grade, it would probably be very adequate. Make it from 'half-hard' and it should be excellent.

IF it were air bag compliant, I wouldn't hesitate for an instant ...

Just spent half an hour boching up the fender and bonnet. I pulled out the broken headlight assembly and indicator. All the globes are still good. Used my distribution strap and the foz and pulled the roo bar back into line. lol
The bonnet now closes abit better too but a good whack of paint is missing and it's far from perfect :(
Just need a new headlight and indicator and she is then drivable :)
