Belated congratulations on the new hooch, Carl. Dogs aren't called "a man's best friend" for nothing. They beat cats any day!

Now I'm gonna have to track down a picture of Slinky, the stray we picked up exactly a year ago here in Senegal. As a matter of fact, she's curled up and sleeping next to my desk as I write this.

More dog pics by my fabulous, talented, photographer wife.

We love our pup, and she LOVES the snow!!! She even went sledding the other day.

Looks like she's having the time of her life there in the snow

Carljwnc, the fun your new puppy's having in the snow reminds me of my Belgium when we were on holidays (vacation) a couple of years ago. :)
As you can see he just loves the water

Now where's that stick of mine gone

 Like I said in that other thread, we're not sure if Tillie likes the water...yet, anyway, we'll find out when it gets a bit warmer. She does love sticks though  (she likes to dig through the snow to get them), so I bet we'll get similar results to yours when we throw a stick into the water.:iconwink:

Took a little roadtrip today out to Pedernales Falls SP, out near Johnson City. Decided to take the hound along to get her out of the house.

As you can see, she was pretty anxious to get there and get going.....

This is how it was after about a mile & a half of hiking.. Her little legs just couldn't do it anymore!

Finally had some great news today. :)

Jerry (my Belgium Shepherd) finally came home from the vet hospital today  after being rushed into ICU last Wed. He had suspected internal bleeding, a very weak pulse & heart rate etc. :(

Initial blood tests showed that his blood count was at only 7 (extremely life threatening) when it should be somewhere between 200-400 for a normal healthy dog.

After a poop load of tests & a huge bill  (that I would pay again in the blink of an eye :iconwink:) they're not sure what happened or why. But is highly possible that he was bitten by a snake

So with 4-6 months of medication & plenty of TLC it looks like he's going to make a full recovery   :raz:

:woohoo:Yes!!! Some very great news.

That is some good news Mr. T! I'm glad he's going to be alright. When Millie (our basset) was pup, she followed her nose right up to a copper head & got tagged on her snout! By the time we got her to the vet - only about 15mins later - she was swolled up like stuck pig. Fortunately after a few days of meds, she was back to herself.
Def. good to hear in light of your other misfortunes going on right now! :bananapartyhat:
