examples for myself how lift would look with my rims and how bumper cut would look
xKiztQ7.jpg

so normal steps for me do lift at least as much as in that pic, and then maybe cut bumper

car how its sits now, how +5cm would look and then +7cm wheel is in the air
would need bigger tires for better look there.

front air box is not very sealed on those H6 models, but its still far away from engine, this time air filter its not on intake as on 2.5 engine but now its in front , then goes sensor , then goes tube to intake , so maybe its safer still even if you get water up to this level

No snow your way yet? When does that usually start?

Be very careful in deep water with that intake at the front.

Sure. Just by design it looks that it would be hard for water to get to engine. Though car wont start if that sensor/valve would go bad. And to put snorkle on this engine is not easy i guess too. Not that i drive via deep waters a lot but still. Wonder how people protect those engines from deep water?

first snow. not a lot. but some ice on some roads allready so i tested my tires there and brakes. tires works pretty well

Memories, and how models changed. Looks like 2001 outback have longer nose, longer stick front bumper from wheel but 2005 maybe have little longer rear bumper , but with same 5cm lift i got much more lift in rear and maybe even some more in front on my 2005
Ahh good memories

Does look quite different, interesting especially considering your current one engine would have to be longer being a 6 wouldn't it?

Dont think h6 is much longer engine in lenght as people putting them in foresters , maybe some 6cm longer to radiator only

wonder what better more accurate apps for this measurement out there.

having fun in sand , testing VDC with TC on and TC off. much better with TC off on this soft and wet sand, VDC still works on wheels but engine is not cut off power so it lets spin wheels more and raise revs more , and that was needed on that place where after 10 times trying i dig up there so many holes for myself that it was hard to find right path to go up . was lots fun, and im sorry this is not my garbage in forest area, someone did that before me. looks very nasty and bad.

too deep for this car with those tires to drive forward alone

Those last three shots exemplify the spirit of Subaru I reckon.

those diagonals not so hard with VDC

rear diff wanted to know more about it myself
52Co1sC.jpg

so looks likes its 1 bolt diff with fins and with 44 w or something on it. doesit means it has 4.4 final gears ? people say 4.4 its for good launching from place but later on high speed it goes on higher revs is it ?

all those plastic covers all over sides and petrol tank. didint had those on 2001 .

another VDC test this time diagonal, when just one rear wheel is in air its not even notices it , in end its 2 wheels in air then its some harder for system, and in other videos 2 wheels in air too
..,and yes its shooting in backround... dont ask .. hard life xD thats why im in a ditch so bullets wont reach me maybe...

same from other side to see how rear wheel does

im surprised to see that wheel in the air still spinning and its not stopped by brakes , i think i had more nraking on wheel on my 2001 , at least on those that where in air. maybe i need check my brakes , put all new pads and change liquid to new one. because if brakes wont work perfect then VDC wont brake those wheels good . i think so. thought car brakes ok for now. but i guess that VDC braking is more delicate very gentle action

test 4 more like when you not gentle and you wanna go forward. thats how it would be in real life , that slow driving its just for test purpose so its shows like worse case i guess. in real life you give more revs and car jumps more faster and better

Awesome! I've never seen fireflies. That is what we're looking at isn't it?

so 1.1.2020 first day drove to forest some. still not wet , no snow or cold. its not winter we all be waiting for, maybe next 2 month will be better

wanted to try larger wheels , largest that thos eoutbacks can take , 28.5'' wheels 225/65R17. And now they wont fit without some small modifications in front at least. in rear all good but in front you need some cut lower bumper part and then some hammer down that metal lip on other side
