2006 Outback 3.0R 180kw VDC project

so new car , new project m new plans for it , and gathering new info what could be done witt it and choosing what fits me

examples for myself how lift would look with my rims and how bumper cut would look
xKiztQ7.jpg

so normal steps for me do lift at least as much as in that pic, and then maybe cut bumper

car how its sits now, how +5cm would look and then +7cm wheel is in the air
would need bigger tires for better look there.

I like the red accents. I, too, placed some red accents in mine and blackened some chrome parts.

Do you still have the old misfire codes? Interestingly, P0172 and P0175 have the same possible causes:

You will find the cause sooner or later, @scalman.

Yes i will eventually. I like some new codes for me hehe. Someone said low oil and evap valve could cause that too. So oil was not low but bellow middle so yh on low side allready and maybe its to to change oil allready too. And about evap valve i need to find where it is and how to check it. Google and youtube will help me here i hope.

Found WJ near mine. Yes ground clearance on my is fine but that was CRD means quadra drive means very good off road capabilitys with autolocking front and rear and center with low gear . And it looks stock not even lifted. Maybe not as good on corners but everyone says they so comfy so soft boaty even. I can feel and hear like every small stone on asphalt when driving
Would like to test drive it . And its better car as project as do a lot diy on it and such. Even simple lift is much easier then subarus. And still hardcore both hard axles.
But then maybe maintenance and parts cost more .

Will you be after the 2.7L CRD? That engine is used in the Mercedes-Benz's, as well. They're OK but you have to make sure that you get the full service history and, if possible, what type of Diesel the previous owner(s) had been using.

How much sulphur do your diesel variants in Lithuania have? Here, we used to have 50ppm sulphur but since 2008, 10ppm is the industry standard. 50ppm is somewhat OK but 10ppm causes bacteria to build up in the fuel system, hence the necessity to put in additives, not to remove the bacteria but to break them down into fuel-system friendly sizes. Many diesel mechanics profit because of this, especially here where all of a sudden, people went with diesels without knowing anything about how they work. Our local Ford dealer opened a separate service center just to cater the ever-increasing number of breakdowns.

The good thing about that DaimlerChrysler engine is that it's a non-DPF model, so you have a million less things to worry about. I am not sure if they updated the later models with DPF, though.

Watch out for clogged catalysts, also.

If you have access to the KJ Cherokee there, its 2.8 VM Motori engine is an industrial engine and is easily its strength. It is still CRD so the service history is a must to make sure that the previous owner(s) keep up with the maintenance. Cheers.

and now my trip there and back 280km car showed justr 11.7l average which is amazing i never had that low since i had car, and thats with all those too ruch fuel mix errors , bu i drove just on roads where speed is limited to 90km/h , so at places i did 90 at some 93 maybe and at some lower speeds, so now its it gives me good mpg with full car . so weird , why then so bad was on highways on 120-130 speed ? so this trip pn lpg was super cheap, half cost of petrol so its good. But its not right for car like on low speeds, one time it dropped me like 5 errors at once cyl 2,4,5 missfires i was driving on hard rain today... still it did good on mpg.
but i like when it gives me new missfires , means that those maybe where bad connections on spark coils connectors... though not sure but maybe.
it gives errors when i start to drive when it need more power more torque but when i get up to speed it goes well no getting errors there, just i can feel that engine vibrates still its not happy when revs drops low. more for me to think of there... dont have time now , need to drive like every day its something planned so no time to do experiments for now.
i feel that from all those problems im learning so much about engine and about its capabilitys, because at some points is doing bad and then at some points its doing good , im using manual gears too , watching how it does and then let him do it on auto and see how its do it ...and so on. im learning just so much that im started to feel engine from sound from gears its using like im starting to feel it how it feels today how it will do , will it do good or bad does it like petrol more or its same petrol or lpg and such. before i felt more power from petrol then lpg and now its same .

It's because aerodynamic drag is proportional with speed. Theoretically, drag should be proportional with the square of speed, but empirical evidence sometimes do not give us the proper results. The square of speed is only a reference and the exponent value can be influenced by several factors. The Subaru engineers have the proper differential equations and values for their base cars.

Now many people change values by adding different tyres, roof components, etc. If we have the equations from the engineers, we can modify them to get the best explanation but as long as we have the idea how and why, it should be OK.

Sorry mates, I should be putting a good equation here but I can't figure out how to enter some of the characters on BB code. 80 kph is a good highway speed for most vehicles but it will be very hard to convince people that it should be the speed limit.

Well here limit is 90kph ,only highways are up to 120kph. And rly im fine with those speeds, between citys mostly are just 2 lane roads so you wouldnt wanna go faster there. Some ppl still do though. I dont like how gearbox using gears on high speeds like droping to 3rd gear at speed 120 for overtake. I get it that its because im showing that i wanna be agresive so its makes it agressive. But its so bad for mpg.

90kph is a good speed, as long as we don't hold the traffic. During one of my trips last year, traffic was light and I was able to run at 90kph, helping me achieve 6.4L/100km for that tank. That's the best run I've had so far. It was only near Auckland when traffic started to build up and I had to run at the speed limit of 100kph.

no time for more time to do on car so i just changed engine oil for now to new one. not even changed it on diffs. as my niece now visiting us here , tomor i take her to sea again . and then next saturday again to sea with other people . so didint had time just cleaned inside if car and removed header i thought its leaking there somewhere but noe im not so sure , its still there that weird sound when im throttle up revs , kinda wierd sound comes up ... like its leak somehwere. damn... i duno ... same with it not going up top speed and drinking too much fuel /lpg i duno what its problem. why too rich f uel mix errors. i got those fater i removed headers last time.
Po4lAbK.jpg

but if 550km will cost me 56 euros now to fill up with lpg even thats too much for me rly.... maybe i do have bad valves there and i need to adjust them

My low brother

This time after 260km cars screem shows just 11.6l average. Thats much better. Felt better on 5th gear now used 5th almost all time on highway. Used it manually . Felt that it had more torque on 5th gear this time. Maybe i did had some leak from header

While my long trip some new errors poped up even, too lean fuel mix and catalyst p0420 ones. And then some 3 5 cyl missfires , earlier i got just cyl 2 . where those came from no idea. After deleting them they didint came back. How those erros so changing now no idea and they switch from ones to others.
Could it be clogged catalyst makes all that? As i think of it it kinda could mess up everything is it?
One time iys jumps from stop very energetic , other time i cant accelerate car more then 20kph for some 10 seconds , something is rly messed up there.or some thing just messing up fuel mixes and how its fires in cylinders.

Changed oil in diffs too. Front diff has this star bolt so i made key for it myself as allways, from bolt

my car is like rollerrcoaster for now, one day it drives good , then in 10 min it changes and cant pass anything , just i dont have time nor or money to deal with it. its very sensible i would say for anything. i even got some weird ABS lights on dashbpoard that in errors codes it s said something about some solenoid in gearbox ... hmm but after deleting it and turning car off and then on again it works. but yh its very jumpy car and like go to lower gears too much for its power when driving in city . but yh no time for anything noew too much work hours and no time to do anything . so just driving as it is. worse case scenario maybe its valves , or catalyst.
now when i turn car off it gives some new like high pitch sound before it goes off... that i didint get before rly. weird sound. catalysts shot and they making that sound or smt ?

Not sure if the catalysts are the problem. Your video on post #342 shows that the o2 sensor voltages are not jumping erratically. If you have an IR thermometer, you can check the temperature of the flanges around the catalysts. You can also do a visual inspection.

The symptoms you are telling are quite unusual. I am not surprised if the culprit is rather simple. Yes, cars do that.

How is the cable between the battery and the alternator? Sometimes if there is too much resistance there, things about the car go crazy. Cheers.

Yes just before i had onw cyl missfire on 2 but now comes 3 5 as welk and they on other side so whats with them, coil cables secured seems ok checked just other day they secured with zip ties. Weird sound like high pitch squek when i turn off car.
I will record sound later. It sound like from catalyst area
7gxm0Q4.jpg

Maybe i touched some wires when was removing headers and disconnecting O2 sensors . Not sure but that now come up often

so whats that sound ? i made engine off for that sound to be heard , thats every time when i turn off car. this sound and not only then as i saw now. didint had that like couple month ago... now its there, what makes it ? maybe bad catalyst ?

That is a strange sound! I cannot identify it.

Sounds like something rotating rather than vibrating to me.
