What have you done to your car today?

Taza,

Yes it was changed to match the front diff. I had already chaged both ends from factory 3.7, to 3.9 about 2 years ago. This diff is out of a 1986 RX turbo sedan, so had to change it to match the front.

Mr Turbo,

Will do when I find some time to test it. Although, the person who fitted it for me, said it feels tighter than his, so should be real good off road.

Beigewagon.

Thats great to hear, I hope it makes a difference offroad!

On Saturday night again more damage was done to my car.

3-4 rocks about the size of a mans fist were throughn at her. Luckily the windscreen was missed and they mainly hit the bonnet with 2 on the roof.

Some nice size dents and missing paint now left  :furious:

Jesus Taza, I'd expect that sort of thing SOR but not up here.
Are you parking in someone's spot?
Might have to spend the next saturday night camped out.:mob:

I received my sticker that I ordered the other day & put it on my back window this afternoon, just under the mighty ORS one :)

When I saw it I just couldn't resist getting it for my Subi

Should be good for a laugh & also turn a few heads when I take my Forry offroad next  :poke:

I don't think so, the people who live across the road in some flats seem like alcoholics and druggies though!

I'll try and kill them if I do!

damn you have had some bad luck lately with your car!

I know, im starting to get really tied of it. Im not worried about the bonnet as im replacing it with a GT bonnet later this year.

Are you serious??? Not again!!! :madred::yell::furious::eviltoyou:

I know right!

I hope it's not the same cheap crap alarm I got from Fleabay, bloody thing went off every time someone would hit a remote for a garage door or TV, I had to cut the wire to the alarm cos it would go off 3-4 times a night scaring the crap out of the old lady next door.

What suburb you moved to, KGB area? Anywhere west of Wanneroo Rd is better than east of it.

Nah I'm in B, he's in dianella. I never locked my car for 7 years then I came out and found all my doors just open one morning, now I do. Never had probs like this though.

Yeah probably the same crappy cheap alarm :rolleyessarcastic:

Im in Dianella, so west of Wanneroo Rd anyway.

Geography lesson here, you're east lol. But generally not a bad area, nice and close to the city too.

If it's the same alarm it's great apart from going off maybe 20 times a day and has an override button so if the battery goes flat or the remote gets wet you can get home.

Well I think I found the problem to my fuel consumption.. I pulled my Carby apart and after checking the float level and the strainer and all the jets and the fuel bowl, I discovered the throttle shaft is extremely loose and when the car is running, if I play with the shaft the idle raises and lowers accordingly. Looks like I need to replace the carby

BTW Taza.. I hope you've seen the end of this crap.. it's ridiculous

Big dog with bigger teeth? :lildevil:

Ive been busy on the liberty I just bought, its a Gen 3 which I got for $1200, in the last couple of days I have changed the timing belt, both fan belts, serviced the motor, transmision, replaced the front rotors and pads, scrubbed the interior and installed a double din touch screen stereo with all the good stuff in it. I'm buggered.

Well done mate :raz:
I'd be buggered too :)
Sounds like you've well & truly earned yourself a drink :bananatoast:

Any auto engineering shop can drill out the butterfly spindle and put in a sintered/phosphor bronze bush and drill it to precise clearance. Had it done to one of my Colt carbies in the 1980s.

Hell of a lot cheaper than a new carbie, or a full reco.

BTW, a sloppy spindle bearing will cause all your observed woes - poor fuel consumption; dodgy acceleration (too lean on throttle open); carbon build up and engine wear from running too lean, and therefore too hot.

Yeah, Taz has had a really rotten run lately. I hope its over too.

Today I ordered a brand spankin' new 32/36 weber, don't know how long it will take to arrive but for someone who originally wanted the cheapest option, I'm quite excited about a performance upgrade!

I called an engineering place here in Mt Isa, $120/hour and didn't even sound confident about this kind of work. Later that day I got told to steer clear of them and to look in Townsville but forget that. Anyway, all those issues are true but the running hot. The car appears to be running cold if anything. The suby mechanic actually suggested that I put in a thermostat to make it run warmer. The only time the needle got over 1/4 since buying it was the trip here while towing a trailer and as soon as I hit traffic it dropped very quickly back to it's usual spot.
