What have you done to your car today?

Bled the brakes and clutch on the Forrie today, all pretty straightforward. I then replaced the polin filter- which was well past it's use by date. It was full of dirt, bugs and so on. I then replaced the polin filter on the WRX, which I had been putting off because the Impreza of that year never had them fitted, and I had found a set that fitted, but no one until now could tell me what filter (Part #) fitted. So it just never got changed. Anyway, I took the old one out and it was not much better than the Forester one. When was the last time you checked yours?

250,000 km /~156,000 mile service 2.5 manual 05 Outback

Continuing the service interval theme ... my next service will be 250,000 km.

What would you service at that point?

As good a time as any to change brake fluid & gear box oil?

What else??

The more frequently they are changed the better. Brake fluid I do annually. Might want to do power steering also

I haven't checked my pollen filters... given the dust I've driven through in the last few months, I should probably find them first, then check them.

Regards,

Joel

I checked the oil. Surprised that it didn't need a top up after hauling a trailer from Hotham to Cohuna then to Bendigo... Unfortunately she's starting to use oil but I've got no idea where its going as she's not dropping it and there's no blue smoke! Could be a snow thing but time will tell.

Cheers

On the MY04, you first remove the glovebox- I think 7 screws. Behind that on the left habd side is a solenoid or something you have to remove- just a single self tapper. Then there is the plastic facing which just uncliops, then you simply remove the polin filter.

The previous series of orester you do not need to remove the glovebox. Underneath the glovebox you remove a long plastic cover which has 2 screws about an inch or two apart closeset to you. Remove them, and unhook the back of it and then you have access to the filter, You let them drop, and slide the bottom one toward you- you can barely see the top one at this point, then remove it, the top one then drops down and you remove it as well. Installation is a bit trickier. I found it easier to remove the carpet and ecu cover, but I have also done it without the need to do that. Note, the filters are marked for top and bottom

Your spot on Rally, 7x screws + 1x on the inside holding a relay. :)
Not sure if your's is the same joel_57 but this might also help. :)

Ordered a dash mat via SuperChe@p yesterday.
Have the car booked in for an alignment and tyre rotation near work tomorrow. Supposedly have the computer settings for my model. Apparently they do alignment work for the local Subaru dealer.
Will see how it comes up. Will also look at the front bolts, to see if they are adjustable.

I actually started my car for the first time in 10 days! Had to jump start the girls car that was parked next to mine at the apartment.

Other than that she still sits, for now.

Obviously not raining in sunny Melbourne today!

I got my subi covered in mud on my stag weekend!! YAY! Much fun had. I especially enjoyed making my mates jaws drop when we took some pretty gnarly tracks on the way into town

I've also knocked up a bash plate - finally! It only happened because I got bored... Glad I did!

Cheers

Aha ha nice work bennie. Wouldn't want to "kill yourself" without that bash plate.

Washed, Cut, Polished, Waxed and Vacuumed today...

And wow.. what a difference it makes :)

Pics, we want pics....

Cut, polished AND Waxed!!! Wow - bug effort. Must have taken you all day?? Did you use a buffer or just by hand??

In between lugging broken concrete around the back yard all weekend, I managed to fit my cargo barrier :) That is all.

Next weekend it gets the "han0009 treatement" I think.

G'day lads,

Well swapped cars with the missus's brother in law whose my mechanic. Get the brakes, service, CV boot fixed and new muffler installed - as well as install the struts and springs once they arrive (cheers PhilRAAF)

In the meantime get to drive a little impreza sportswagon, pretty nifty little thing in it's own right. Hi-low range, throaty boxer sound, grips the road real well. Just needs a lift of a couple inches and it would be ready for the show.

Will be sure to add to other threads on the lift of the foz...

Cheers
