What have you done to your car today?

I think mine is 120,000 miles 10 years

Bad news- diff needs new crown wheel & pinion- ex Japan! 3 weeks till the parts arrive. Haven't hey heard of a 747? I must admit though, driving the WRX certainly has its advantages... Glad I'm not paying for the petrol

I thought mine had low km's on it with only 75,500 KM's at (just shy of) 6 years

Let the wheelin' begin, a bit late this year but I should still get a few trips in.

(Big thanks to Pop who is helping me fund all this.)

Yeah she's got very low kms. Typical Subaru quality, it feels just as good, if not better, than the day we bought her home from the dealer with 9kms on the clock!

I've just done the final checks before I head out to a defensive driving course tomorrow. Can't wait!

those of you with low kms , do you service your cars according to the kms or time interval?

oil/oil filter to km's unless car is up on stands for years, coolant annually, timing belt to time. Air filter- i check it occassionally to see what it is like. Fuel filter to distance unless fuel was suspect

I drop the oil & change the oil filter every 5K or every 4 months whichever comes first. So mostly by time.

The timing belt is by time. I did mine when the car turned 4 years old. I think it had about 64K or so on it when it was done.

Air filter when it's needed, usually annually, but sometimes more frequently, just depends what it looks like.

Diff & transmittion fluid is changed around the 18mth to 2 year mark.

Picked up the Forrie this afternoon. No rear diff whine, thanks to what is probably a new diff. Trip meter works thanks to all new cluster. Exhaust does not rattle due to new heat shield. Fair dinkum- car is like new to drive with almost 140 000 k's on it! :) But it certainly does not corner like the WRX- found that out on the first corner. Bit slower in a straight line too.:iconwink:

Thats great to hear Rally. :raz:
Bet you can't wait to try it offroad on the 31st :quitar: :quitar:

Speaking of service intervals, I just had my 100,000km service done at 75,000km. Which is low km, given it's a 7/05 model. But... I bought it march 09 with 24,000km on it, and on Sunday, on the way home from the Flinders Ranges, it had just clocked over 82,000 km. I think i'm looking at something like 40,000km in the last 12 months. So pretty soon, my servicing will be done by km, rather than by time as it had been.

Regards,

Joel
