What have you done to your car today?

New front drive shaft, new front wheel bearings on both sides, new front rotors, and new reae wheel bearings on both sides.

Car runs a lot quieter. Wallet is a lot lighter.

Beigewagon.

OUCH, BW. That would certainly have cost a few bob!

Your beastie will sure feel a lot better after that too .

Sorry to hear about your wallet's ill health :(.

Well Blinky is loaded up for tomorrow, rear end sags down , but with the blocks from nachaluva I've still a little more clearance with the car loaded up as I had before I put the blocks in.

It's because I take too much crap with me

All worked out well, had some fun rallying down sand tracks dodging commodore tailpipes. Somehow Blinky ended up with Otway mud on him on the way home too..

Nar it's just what the sf rear does, Most people replace them with sg struts which are slightly longer in the body. I'm happy with my setup at the moment, the king springs do sag a little bit, but with dobinsons being the only other option I think i'm fine.

Last few days actually. Seems like a new car.
337500 service, new plugs, new front drive shaft oil seals, tyre (all 6 of `em) rotation.
Sorted out keyless entry control module problem from way back. Just bypassed, not me, friendly auto elec.
Now instrument panel lights sometime.
I continue to be amazed just how smoothly my "old" car runs. No complaints though.

Tried cleaning fuel system

After having plugs, wires, coil, oxygen sensor changed on my 2002 Outback (Auto) due to stalling & loss of power, it ran great - O2 sensor especially helped....BUT same problem arose after a couple of months. I was told to put in a shot of gas line antifreeze and fuel injector cleaner as friends suspect dirt in fuel system. Did it and it started and i let it idle for two hours. ( Had filled with Super petrol to help cleaning process) Seems to be smooth but it needs the open road...Bought a fuel filter and will have it put in as well. Someone said i should also change the PCV valve. Any experience? Change Air filter too?

The PCV and hoses get clogged up with oily residue. Its recommended to change it every 100k kms I think. I can't remember how but it can affect fuel economy. A dirty air filter can affect economy & power, I replace mine more than I need to lol

You can clean a PCV to superclean with soaking it citrolella oil.

I just clean it with petrol and check if the spring still works. Anyway, wasnt on my car or yesterday but the whole last week ( few hours everyday) i rebuilt the engine (minus pistons and rings) on my wifes car (my03 forester x). No more leaking oil or coolant. Cheers.

^ that's a job well done, TB ....

Hope it has appreciated your attention, and rewarded it .

This will be covered a bit more in the suspension and the tyres areas.
Today finally got my Michelin Latitude cross 215/70 r16's on my Subaru secondhand repainted rims. With the 1' lift now have 40mm lift total. Speedo now only 2kph optimistic and car cruises highway much more comfortably. NO COMPARISON on dirt roads t the stock low profile 17's

Had a play at home with my new Christmas present to me, a creeper winch!

Works well just hope I never need it:ebiggrin: Tried it out with and without the snatch block. Certainly easier to use with the snatch block.
