What have you done to your car today?

Looks terrific, Red.

Agree about the 'tidying up' that doesn't get a mention on the SubaXtreme web site ...

I still have to do that with mine, along with replacing the d/s frog light bracket.

Did you cut down your OEM grill? It's very neat, whatever you did.

Over the past couple of days I have been repairing/stabilising the rear wheel arch crack which has been around for the last 50000 or so km in my LHS arch.
Used a Bunnings type perforated sheet of the more or less correct size bolted to the wheel arch underside. The whole lot covered with bitumastic filler to keep the rust at bay.
In conjunction with a rear strut brace, thank you Zippo, I can traverse the Simpson again and a few more places as well.
No sign of cracking on RHS so hopefully none will appear.
No doubt while Subarus are indeed great cars there are some limitations to where they are supposed to go.

^ Sorry, I wasn't clear. Did you cut down the OEM bumper surrounding the grill?

I did cut down the oem bumper, it sits quite far forwards.

^^

Looks fantastic, Red. Almost perfect match with your car, and a very neat job of cutting the OEM bumper to fit. Well done, mate.

My bar being for the series II SG, I still have my intact OEM bumper.

You could fit some LED driving lights where the frog light cut-outs are. Possibility??
Adjustment is always going to be the problem, as it is with my frog lights.

Well Scooby2s performance after her sticky altercation the other day has resulted in a wheel alignment and balance all round. Fingers crossed it will solve her ratty behavior above 95kmh. Otherwise she won't be able to trek 1100kms to Brisbane on Monday!

Best regards,

Hope it goes well for Scooby2, S2.

You haven't got a whole lot of caked on mud somewhere inside a rim have you?
That really makes cars undriveable!

Hopefully not a bent drive shaft or propeller shaft ... :(.

Well thanks to the great team at Jax in Mitchell ACT, scooby2 is back to her trusty self! So relieved it was just balance and alignment, nothing major.

Best regards

Re-attached one of my flares which hadn't taken properly the first time

Rant time with apologies to Ratbag.......
Absolutely hate putting inner sound proofing and plastic lining panels back in place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those bloody plastic clips....

^ Mostly a bloody sight easier to get back in than they are to get out! :puke:

What gets to me (just a little ... ) is that they must have employed specialist designers to ensure that no two panels in the entire car are held in place using even vaguely similar methods or clips. This is almost a 100% guarantee that one will eventualy break some irreplaceable or extremely expensive part.

My commiserations mate.

in 4th gear about 90kmh I decided to floor it for a bit, tacho shoots up to redline but car only goes a bit faster.
New clutch time :(
120000kms on the odo original clutch, how does that compare to everyone else?

Sounds like it .. :(

Roo1 had 240K on the original clutch, no sign of slipping or shudder. No throw out bearing noise. It did a lot of towing - around 25K kms probably.

Roo2 is at 115K, ditto.

120K seems very low mileage to me. Have you got a dead rear crankshaft seal? I.e. could it be oil on the plate rather than plate wear?
