What have you done to your car today?

It wasn't a fun drive to the mechanic.... But now I'm gonna have an awesome exhaust!

I've done all of that works already nachaluva, car felt awesome afterworld.

thats what I'm hoping lol

Also putting in my new lift kit at the same time. Keeping the 2" strut top blocks but swapping the 2" body blocks for 1" body blocks so the engine, etc will sit 1" higher, giving me an extra inch clearance. Doing it all at the same time so I only need to get one wheel alignment, which I'll be getting at Advantage Suspension in Moorabbin. They have a pretty good reputation

Fixed my tow bar and electrical connector up today. Been bugging me for years.

Details and photos in Roo2's build thread.

Built my custom manifold tonight for fitment tomorrow. ...

At the same time am installing new coolant temp sensor, map sensor, oxygen sensor, coil pack, leads and TPS

Upgrading alternator to a 90amp one... from the standard 75amp
Pulled all my lift kit out except for raised springs and installed whiteline 22mm rear swaybar and HD mounts and end links.
Changed wheels to road tyres for the winter.

^What's happening with your lift? Is this a long term thing or are you just practicing for when you install mine soon?

As for me, I fixed my power steering and stopped the annoying squeak at the same time. The belts for power steering, alternator and aircon had stretched out and had run out of adjustment so I replaced both of them. No more jerky steering and no more annoying squeaking.

Bought the three stage Mothers Canubura wax treatment, gonna apply it on Friday

Redxs its just temp. Im waiting for Nachaluva to finish and send me my full body lift. The rear has too much negative camber and it's chewing out the tyres. So pulled it for now.

Organized some strut tower braces, cabin air filter and cargo.barrier installation, all happening Thursday!

Finally got the Impreza registered last Friday, have been driving it a fair bit to see of any niggles arise, nothing so far, purrs like a kitten, although I wish the EJ18 had a bit more power, but never mind, I didn't buy it to be a speed machine.

Bought a black rear seat, 2 front seats and door panels from a '01turbo. Finally updating the worn out 385.000km old grey interior. No pain in my back any more.

Gettin it done

Got crackin yesterday, dragged out some left over 3mm ally checker, dropped the flimsy cracked plastic sump shield.
Used it as a template for a shiny new bash plate.
Bit of measurin, markin and off to a mate to use his rusty beat up old foldin machine.
Startin to take shape after I get home and give it a massage with the FBH.
Cut the bits away from the pipes n front corners.
Measure 20+ times to get the bolt holes right (still had to ream them out)
10th time remove from car, start lookin at the old bit, HATE TO WASTE IT, chop the inner skirt ends off n attach em to keep more crap out of the engine bay.
Fit B/plate agaiin fit side skirts (that'll work) Think I better put some drainage n breather holes.
Drop b/plate last time, bit more measurin drillin and refit:banana::bling:

Thats an great idea about keeping the sides. i should of done that!

^^ That looks neat!

Few minor things - changed one front headlight globe and cleaned both of the headlight covers of that annoying film with some stuff I got from supacheap, did an ok job I guess.

What did catch my eye when I was looking at the globes, were the narva 100% blue ice globes (https://www.narva.com.au/products/browse/performance-globes), have to check them out. They were around the $70 mark... My headlights are terrible at the best of times, so this might be a worthwhile improvement for low and high beam?

Fitted the set of MY10 17" wheels and tyres i just bought... I think they really suit the car. We're off to Lake Cobbler and Paradise Falls tomorrow :)

Cheers

Steve
