What have you done to your car today?

Took a day off, and mounted an other starter engine, new front shocks and a set of 4 lifted king springs. Took me 12 hours, man I am tired! A day at work is a breeze compared to this

Not quite, i want to make a sparetyre carier at the rearbumper, an other frontbumper and the most difficult, i have to save some money. First this summer 3 weeks to italy with my camper!

Took blinky up to Mt Ida in the Graytown National Park, and we followed a couple of tracks, including one that dropped straight off the side of the mount :surprised:. Great view of lake eppalock from the top

Put the rear seat back in the Foz. Sealing the cabin is now complete

You will float when crossing the rivers and you won't be able to go to the other side…maybe should you add a propeller to your Foz

Haha, thats the idea. The chunky muddies will propel the Foz forward when floating if I keep the revs up :lildevil::rotfl:

Ordered two one inch lift kits from Gorilla Offroad, one for my 2002 SG which has raised springs and one for the 2004 SG that has standard springs.

Replaced the spark plugs in my Forry today with Taza's help. The old ones were well used.

Wired up a new reverse LED light with the help of a mate. Took 5 minutes and works a treat!

It wasn't today but a few days ago, I had to replace the battery in my Forry :madred:

To say I was NOT happy with the Yellow Top battery is an understatement :yell:
I didn't even get 5yrs out of it :yell: & for the price I paid for it I was not a happy chappy :furious:

I ended up going with a 600amp again (from the NRMA this time) It was a lot cheaper too & also came with a 3yr warranty

Mr Turbo

That's :censored:, I got 8 years out of my first one. When I replaced mine Subaru wanted $275 for their average battery's, so I got a 640amp from the UK for $158. Can't remember what the warranty was but I trust it will last a while.

Had the same experience with a Yuasa (OEM Subaru) that lasted only 4 years, then bought the cheapest south Corean I could find and its already 7 years old...

Today I also had to buy a new battery for my wifes 02 forester. Cost me 70 euro (105 aus $)
with 3 year warrenty. Seems that I have a good deal

Thats virtually what the NRMA guy & battery guy (also from the NRMA) said :surprised: Both of them were gobsmacked that I didn't get at least 10yrs out of the Yellow Top :shake:

The funny thing is that the 1st battery (original) lasted 4yrs & 8mths.
And the Yellow Top lasted the exact same time. Thats right 4yrs & 8mths.

Any way, lets see how long this (cheaper) one lasts.
Perhaps I can go for a hat-trick & get 4yrs & 8mths out of this one aswell

^ That's lousy battery life, Mr T :( Ugh! I generally get 6-10 years out of a reasonable quality battery (no cheapies; nothing costing more than about $160-170 either ... ).

The new rear strut assemblies (complete units from Pedders) went into Roo2 this morning at Lucas Automotive. See my thoughts here:

That's odd for a yellow top. The battery i changed in blinky last was about 6 years old, and was by the looks of it a $100 generic one. The yellow top in my mates patrol (third car same bat) he uses for the fridge now is still going strong, been run flat several times as well. Might be worth ringing the distribute, your consumer rights should guarantee it'd last longer than 4 years.

Hope it lasts a better time.

Today I grabbed some paint to finally repaint blinky's roof, then the forecast was for rain for the next week, so that isn't happening haha. Will try and do some prep work if it warms up a little.
