What have you done to your car today?

What did catch my eye when I was looking at the globes, were the narva 100% blue ice globes (https://www.narva.com.au/products/browse/performance-globes), have to check them out. They were around the $70 mark... My headlights are terrible at the best of times, so this might be a worthwhile improvement for low and high beam?

Don't get any blue-tinted globes, the blue tint is a filter which reduces the light output. They may look cool but out on country roads they are very dim. Plus the blue light reflects rain which makes it hard to see. I did have 130W "pure white" (ie, blue tint) & threw them away. Less usable light than the stock 55W globes :shake:

Sarge avoid anything with blue on it. The plus 50 narva are the best compromise between extra light output and reduced bulb life. Anything in the white or blue series has to be further overdriven to make up for the light removed by the blue tint.

^^ Thankyou both for the advice! Saved me some hassle by the sounds of it!

The light output is now much better since cleaning the covers - guess I'll just stick with doing this every so often...

+1

Also look at the Phillips globes, prob a bit better quality than Narva but both good

My jacking plate was pretty bent & rubbing on the FSB, so I took it off & straightened then reinforced it. I also made a 1" spacer bar for the radiator support panel that will strengthen that too as well as drop the fronty of the sumpguard by 1". This wont affect approach angles by much & keeps the guard away from the sump plug which has copped a bit of a battering.

Will post when I get the car back and get to a computer, probably tomorrow arvo

Hahaha, thanks, it's made out of 2.5" exhaust tube that's painted to match my car, so it looks different to the plastic snorkle :-D

Photos from Twink of his new snorkel!
Looks half decent mate, not sure about that head, but looks like you could change it fairly easily if needs be.

^ Intriguing...is that the split-coily stuff for wrapping electrical cable?

Also, with the height of that, you can literally go submarining!!
Electrics are the limit as they say....

Took the Forester for a run through the Toolangi State Forest. Got it and the wife covered in mud :furious:

At least I can hose the Forester off !

An unoriginal photo !

Blew my clutch to pieces and possibly snapped my driveshaft, going to the mechanic soon and if the shaft has snapped I'll be parting the Twinkmobile out!
