What have you done to your car today?

Welded up a trolley for the mig today. Took a while plus some of the welds are a bit dodgy but its much needed practice lol

What has that to do with my Foz you ask?

Its the 1st bit of welding I have done in over 10yrs, practice for doing some welding on the body lift kit I have (tieing the rear trailing arm blocks together) then the biggie...fabbing up a combination bullbar mount/recovery point/winch mount. I'll really need my skills honed for that one!

Finally got the right wiring splitters for my bixenons, now I have the halogen and HID high beams.

I think I might still need some spotties or an LED light bar angled up so when coming down a dune at night I can see up the next dune. It hard to commit to a climb if you can't see it.

LED light bars are awesome but so expensive. The opposite to spotties though, they give a very broad spread of light, great for seeing around bends, up hills/dunes or seeing wildlife on the side of the road

I've had that too. I thoroughly cleaned the diff then soaked the plugs with Penetrene & used a plug tool that Ratbag was kind enough to lend me. I now have a plug socket for it....

I used a breaker bar that fit in perfectly.

Well today I went to install my amp and sub today, I mapped out all of the cable runs, I then decided it was all to hard and had a beer.

Found out my High country trip saw the end of my front d/s ball joint, so I may as well replace both of them, mechanic also gave me a split cv boot kit (one of those sovlent welding boots) so i'll give that a try when my duct tape job fails, 22,000km and no sign of leaks haha

I wanted to wash and detail my fozzie today, but we will be getting some weather tomorrow night and Tuesday so I held off. I DID however change the oil and oil filter, also installed a nice new K&N Engine Air Filter. She purrs nicely now!

Ordered a DCCDPro for the STI box I found in England which I should get within a week.

Its a controller you need if you want to lock the center diff when you put a DCCD (driver control center differential) that comes out of an Impreza STI.

I also rang the mechanic that makes my locker...there's a bit of delay, I think another month...
