What have you done to your car today?

RB, wouldnt surprise me at all if the US has a longer service interval, even though its the same part.
I think you're right on that one too mate :iconwink:
I also seem to remember reading or hearing something about that also :Bananacomputer:

Perhaps one of our US friends can help us out with an answer on that one :poke:

Regards
Mr Turbo

As much as my slow... foz annoys me and costs me I am really missing not driving it... missing my L-Series too
Starting to compile a best of 2012 video of all my offroading.... I am now realizing what an awesome :censored:ing year I've had! While my car has been out of action for 1/4 of the year I still have had some awesome times, bought and sold(regretting) my sick little $300 L-Series.. done some awesome new offroading in Perth. The mods done; motor swaps, gearbox swaps, turbo stuff, wiring, making lift blocks and just the lot...
Now reflecting it's been the best 12months of my life!

Got my car running again!!!
Scored a used LSD 4.11 diff for $150. Low km and 2 rear CV's  Feels awesome to be back in the old girl... then to top my awesome day look what I found while I was taking the foz to the shops...
My old L-Series!!! It was definitely it, same number plate and dent in the front of the car..

New rear LSD diff and one of the CV's  Only took 35mins to put in myself.

Aaah...the circle of life

I know you've been down on your Foz before but you've had some great fun in it & with a little more caution I'm sure you'll have heaps more fun. Just remember its a nimble lil Foz not a lumbering, obese Cruiser or Patrol, and drive accordingly. I'm not having a go, just urging you to tone down some of the more extreme stuff like the reverse donuts lol. Heaps of fun but you gotta pay for it.

I'm really happy for you Taza, you've needed some good luck :iconwink:

There was a ~2½ ft snow bank in from of my alley. Drove right through it easily. A Dodge Caravan that was following me... not so much! I love AWD :D

Yesterday I spent all afternoon replacing the radiator hoses & flushing the system thoroughly.

It took ages to get the little hose off & it also took off part of my nail when my hand slipped (makes typing fun lol). Then I overfilled the overflow tank & tried sucking out the excess...bad idea! I got a mouthful, spat it out & then stuck the garden hose in my mouth haha. 4 hrs later still had an awful taste in my mouth. I called the poisons hotline just to be sure, they said I would need to have swallowed some for it to be a problem. I wont be making that mistake again...others sure, but not that one! :rotfl:

I also thoroughly cleaned the overflow tank, 1st with a bottle brush, then with coarse sand. Came up a treat! Just make sure you wash out every last grain of sand....

Dirty :(

Beautiful job on the radiator tank, mate. I never bothered with the one on Roo1. You put me to shame ... :iconwink: .

Time for the six-monthly bath and vacuum for both cars today. Cleaned out the interiors. Done the windows with a chamois, inside and out.

Checked all the oils; other fluids; radiator; added scum remover to the washers and re-filled with filtered water; checked the batteries.

Have done RonnyRoo. It's the hardest. Far too many fiddly bits and indentations in the bodywork IMO (Roo2 is "smoother" and more continuous curves). I have to use a step ladder to do the roof on RonnyRoo (being somewhat vertically challenged ...).
There is such a thing as having too much head room, IMNSHO ... :rotfl:.

It's only about 25°C outside, but quite humid. So having a little rest before tackling Roo2 in a few minutes.

SWMBO has done around 7,000 kms in RonnyRoo in 6 months. Your resident Ratbag has done a measly 6,000 kms in 12 months in Roo2.

Have a safe and merry Christmas and a happy New Year, everyone.

Just finished washing the outside of Roo2.

Now completely knackered!

Both look good though, and SWMBO is happy ... :)

Got my 215/70/R15 Geolander ATS on my forester today, but I also had to drop her off to address a coolant leak that came up recently. Just praying that its the water pump and not the headgaskets.

Holiday Mods

I also posted this under another thread I started in the Service area so I apologize for the redundancy but wanted to add to this thread as well:

So Mike from Spartan installed the Subtle Solutions 1" lift as well as the 215/70/16 BFG KO's on my Forester and I love the way it turned out. Also have the Subtle skid-plate installed as well. Currently working on making a light-bar for the front using similar techniques that thatguy made here:https://offroadsubarus.com/showthread.php?t=2427
