It seems to me he was going way too fast or was it just too deep for a standard OB?
Perhaps it was a tad fast given its depth. If he'd of gone slower and got a nice bow wave going, he'd probably of made it. I have to admit, that's a good lesson for myself having seen how easy it is to get water in an Outback.

^Neither he nor any of us there in our Outbacks and Foresters had any problems with that same river crossing.

Thats a scary video if thats all it took to kill his engine i must have been lucky.

Yeah ive learnt a lesson, scary how easy it is to kill the engine, the water line came to the top of the top radiator support right below where the mouth of the air intake is...
Emailed a 4x4 shop today that does snorkel installs getting a quote:)
