Your OB looks fantastic wombat :raz:
It has most certainly changed in looks & with it's offroading ability since you first got it.
And in saying that I mean it in a good way

Nice, looks real good. I like what you have done with the fishing rod holder but isn't it illegal to have it facing out on the bullbar in aus? Incase you hit a person, would surely do some damage to your stomach and lungs!

Nicest H6 Outback I've seen, Aaron!

I'm looking at used Subies for myself right now, and the H6 is a pretty good value. Interestingly, used Outbacks are selling for less money here in the US than Foresters of the same age, too. So even though I would prefer a shorter/taller Forester, the Outback is looking mighty attractive in the used-car market.

I think the rule applies if it protudes past the front of your bullbar, mine doesnt by a few mm, ive seen alot of cars around here with them and i bought it from a big fishing shop so ill just say that if the cops give me grief.

Looking very good Aaron, love the colour, love the lift, love the tyres...love it lol

Perhaps you could take off the rod holders when you're not using em. Doesnt look like it would take long.

Great effort Aaron, you're getting your car sorted for the great outdoors really well

Have you got other gear yet like compressor, recovery gear, etc?
Are you gonna do anything like dual batteries? CB?

Agree - looking good.

IMHO & as I can see the brackets do protude past the upper bar, per RTA "which protrude beyond the bumper bar or bull bar" would make the rod holders illegal (at least on any gazetted road). So - be careful!

Ive got a compressor, deflators, snatch strap, equaliser strap, dee shackles and a tow hitch recovery point, maybe ill get a cb one day, i haven't got a fridge so no dual batteries for me, i like my marine icebox keeps stuff cold enough for long enough to not justify spending alot of money on a fridge.

Yeah they do but its not by much, there is quite alot of people around here with them, if i get pulled over for them i will play dumb and hopefully get off with a warning:P

Finally got to the beach today, took my mates in there Patrols with me, stupid thing broke down before we got there, a signal wire going to the dizzy fell off after going over a pothole:P

The car loved it, it was so much easier going through the soft stuff then i thought it was a breeze can't wait to go again, got confidence to go by myself now.

I gotta ask (as you had the rods with you) did you end up catching any fish while you were there ?

Be careful by yourself till you get some experience. If you do go by yourself I'd keep away from the tidal zone, maybe look at getting some maxtrax...& a shovel lol ;)

I wish:P, i just brought them just in case, it was blowing a gale on the beach so we didn't stop just drive around and explored, the beach is 9 miles long was good fun.

Yeah that beach is horrid on high tide, its nice and packed on low tide but on high tide its really really soft.
I've got a shovel, and im gonna work on some crate-trax soonish:P
Plus i have my mate is his trustworthy patrol to come fetch me:P

I love your car alarm. Does he give a warning bark lol

Th OB looks pretty good on sand, bet the H6 barely notices it :iconwink:

Nice pics but I have one thing to say... Thats not sand  Its like road it looks that hard. She looks real great with what you've done to her so far.
Whats next on the list?
