PICTURE POST: your favorite off-road shot!

Nah mate, had to sell it to partly fund the patrol. Wish i could have kept it because it was a great car. Heaps of fun up the beach, but needed something roomier and more capable for further travels and fun. Mrs still hates me for selling it, so I'm sure we'll end up with another.

Here's one of my favourite shots (still from a video) 4wding. Incredibly steep, both lockers on, four wheels spinning, but managed to pull up over the ledge.

Not really an off-road shot but the Volvo involved fell off a driveway into a garden:p
My gfs friend just rung her up asking if we could help pull her car out of the garden on her driveway, confused we drove around there and found her car hanging off the side of her driveway and stuck on a garden rail with both the rear wheels hanging in the air, her boyfriend got his hand stuck in the steering wheel somehow and steered into the garden duuur, i forgot to get a pic of the car actually stuck but heres where it drove into and got stuck:

And here it is after i snatched it out:

The steering rack boot split open pulling it out, nice little bill for the girls bf:p

:rotfl: Haha hehe hahaha :rotfl:

Oh no, how embarrassing

I guess this is why he drives a Volvo! :rotfl:

Very disappointed you didnt get a shot while it was hung up. Then again not sure if my stomach could handle the side-splitting humour :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Haha yeh he was flicking the dash to make the speedo work and somehow he needed to steer back to get his hand out of the wheel and drove into the garden, i have no idea how he managed to do it, it boggles the mind, the car was stuck because its rear wheel drive but only the rear left wheel gets power and it was stuck in mid air off the side of the driveway, under the front end was stuck on the garden rail in the photo, it was really really funny, i had to snatch the car from its towball cause there is no other points to attach the snatchie under it, stupid volvo.

Who knows how a Volvo's mind works, I know I don't  They are a completely different breed, thats for sure :p

Well done mate & good save :)
Lucky you (& your Subi) were there to save the day

The poor old Volvo did nothing wrong, i dunno how he managed to get his hand stuck in the steering wheel and ended up steering into a garden. He said he forgot to brake:P
The car sustained some damage, big scratch along the side looks like someone has keyed it, the front numberplate was ripped off and needs new holes drilled into the bumper, pulling the car off the wooden rail in the photo split the passenger side steering boot open, i didn't know steering shaft thingos had oil in them until today.

You know, in the original post, i asked everyone to post only one shot....but with all of these awesome shots, i cant even be mad. haha. Post on!!

not really "off road" but much more comfortable than the daihatsu, which would have been scary on the muddy, rutted-out tracks up to to Lake Cooloolabin and Pt Glorious look out (no pics of the look out - too dark.. but I'm going back) It's just up the road from me so it's no big deal.

Yeah.. $1200 like I've said before I'm a cheapskate, nearly didn't buy it cos the girl couldn't prove when the Cam belt was changed(found out it's due in 60k)... haha. but so far I have spent:

4xSunnies&2ndHand tires $350
New radiator $180
New Battery $100 (ish)
Stereo and Sub $130

She's getting expensive! ;)

Damn I want an L-Series  Hard to find good ones at that price though.

Hehehe... I got Ruby Scoo for $500 about 7 years ago! Then found out the engine was shot so started with the first conversion then...

She probably owes me the best part, if not a little over $10k but I'm not complaining - cheap offroading and a great little get around as well :D

And to keep to the topic - Epsom 4wd park, run by the Bendigo 4wd club:

That first pic is a beauty Species :)
You'll have to go back there at sunrise or sunset & get another pic if it :)
I'm guessing that would look absolutely fantastic too :raz:

Yeah, i'm not sure if I want to get a sunrise/sunset of the lake or from Point Glorious lookout, this vantage point and the lookout are both facing north

I'm a huge fan of the Geolander AT-s for their all round versatility, but the BFGs & also Coopers have some fans here as well. Not sure if you get Coopers there but they've come out with a new AT3 which is supposed to be very quiet, has a nice sidewall & guaranteed 90,000kms life

If im not mistaken, the BF is a 3 ply tire where the ATS is a 2 ply.

I guess it wont make that much of a difference, but it could hold a sidewall puncture out. I just cant believe how they can be so expensive.

I like the Cooper. I have a friend that ownes a Dunlop dealership and he invited me around to throw some tires on my rims too see what we can squeeze on.

Clever marketing ploy!!
