so normal steps for me do lift at least as much as in that pic, and then maybe cut bumper

checked front arches for rust and how it looks, and put some bitumen spray over there , and then put back that plastic cover back

maybe i should be looking at that when i took it appart and think where that big leak can come from ... and its leaking like wouldnt be any sealant or smt... but all rubber rings where in place and they where not broken nothing they where just pressed well thats normal.. and on top of those rubber rings sealant goes as well so that should be kinda sealed... but after i started car and drove some it just started leak same as before.. like no change at all..

so from outside under engine oil drops from yellow circle area..it goes around it and down.. so its precise its not coming from side it just comes from top place.. goes onto yellow and then on ground .. so it leaks from that red circle place... and its just precise on top..
but i couldnt see problem there rubber ring was ok and in good shape nothing was broken no problems at least to see.

^ That part on the left with the yellow circle around it looks deformed.

Yes its fine that was old sealant. All surfaces as i saw where just good. and that leak was coming like from left side or that yellow... so it must be coming from that top red area.... i would need some endoscopic camera to like put it there more inside and see for sure

still its weird how this much can be leaking if its all tight together... and just with hot oil when its cold then it stops... but i would hope there to find some problem like broken rubber ring or smt.. but it was nothing .. as all things where ok ...
as if ... engine itself has like crack or smt... duno ... doesnt look like hmmm
 
thats why not all jobs is wise to do outside in winter and on rain even. and doing quick. well in 2 days . i need to do it again but now not outside anymore.. i dont want that anymore unless is warm and dry weather then sure why not ... now im thinking what problem is there to such a leak.. i would think ok i put new sealant...so it should be like so changes to leak if its coming from sealants... but its exactly same... same speed same amount... i need that android endoscope camera to look first maybe if its possible to see exactly where leak is coming from ..
and other thing then to change all those rubber ring seal things next time...but damn none of them where bad in those areas in first place....
and new leakage comes from right side now .. same place just drops from right side , stilli think it comes from higher and then it goes around that round area...

even with all problems and such...trying to enjoy it ..as problems comes and goes...
now for my view for those wheels its good height for them . as i saw it before with 7cm lift those wheels wasnt looking as good
and new outback wilderness comes on those size wheels from factory and a lot lift . but that looks more crazy with all black tones and such and this still looks like a wagon just high one

just change tires and bumper and its diff car ... though it might be good middle ground there more normal looking with just more agressive AT tires so like middle between winters and muds but keep normal bumper maybe.
i made that bumper just too much agresive i guess.. i did better job with my 2001 obk before where i cut bumpers too but i did kinda less in front or at least it looked more normal then this version ... i guess i just went little too far.

Those lifts then adds some questions to how its stable on those various spacers. I mean you put all car now on tubes between body and engine/gearbox/drivetrain.... It cant be same like proper stable thing...
Those are just for test again as all things on my car...

They say its enough just put 4cm spacers there with 10cm lift but 8 thought why number 4 why not 5.. as we need to do proper level so 10 means you need to put 5 so it would be same as normal 5cm lift then.
But they like hanging on air... Hmmm yes i know i should use long bolt and very strong tube but there are no bolts out there that long...i mean not 19cm at least that i needed there...so i made one from tube and oem bolt ...
Thing is when drove previous even between those spacers just with all others on 10cm lift car is very ...boaty ...not sure how to say this but its not stops bouncing its like starts swing around on higher speeds on not good road...and that i dont like. Never felt that effect with even 7cm lift spacers on struts... It was pretty stable...
But with this subframe drop and no rear stabiliser car feels rly kinda spongy ..boatty something that its not stops swing.
Sure shocks are old and maybe in bad state they never changed to new ones ..but maybe that subframe drop adds to that stability as well...
Its not that i drove to any offroad last 3 yrs i guess ..i just bored and make my car kinda with more and more problems there more i customize it more problems im getting...
So one day.. i might just remove all of it and make it stock...
As fuel usage its so terrible now that i would be better with super heavy 4x4 jeep with large powerfull v8 in city then this car ... And im not sure what causes this fuel usage so much...sometimes i wanna cry when i see how much km i drove until petrol lpg is gone...its some crazy numbers... Im telling... Its rly bad numbers... And it cant be just tires and lift...that shouldnt affect so bad fuel economy ...
 
Like lets say i put 10l petrol ...and i only drive like 40km in city...sometimes less... That cant be any normal...
 
but then i got to work on some things i wanted to change and my mood got better ... i mean everything its fixiable..

so front i redone , and now in rear... i was allways puzzled why that lift sytem was like ok as that .. with 10 cm spacer on strut then 5cm spacers on subframe and only 5cm spacer on trailing arm bracket... as i saw myself that shock then its not standing straight and links with bushings all twisted... not like extreme twisted but enough... and then rear wheel camber goes bad ... so yeah why only 5cm spacers on trailing arm bracket... hmm so i did some work on that and some more thinking in process

so that how it looks in rear when lifted wheel removed... it clearly visiable that shock is on some angle and then links are not right too

so how to solve that well i tried to just remove trailing arm large bushing bolt and then point it down..and see when it will be in good angle good position for shock and for links ...
and in first pic its that position when its stands right... so it need to be dropped another 5cm down .. so in all 10cm

and then shock is easy to put in and links are in good angle ... but then that lowered trailing arm bracket is like a lot out like if you hit it with something ... like you could hook on it ...
but well maybe its better to make there some skid plate or smt .. then just drive as i was before.
and yes older foresters dont have those problems in rear as they have different link system there more easy to work on lift.

Yes those trailing arms do look vulnerable! The heavy fuel consumption is a mystery; have you compared it to other H6 vehicles?
 
Well just compare to before lift but i didint had vdc abs lights then...so maybe those added to mix...and now catalysts shows some things too. But before lift well it was some better not great still..driving with this car was kinda allways not cheap... Though in city its something puzzling if you look at what screen shows real time even when driving like on 55km/h at 1.5k rpm just calm drive steady that should be like economy driving no? And my screen showing like 15l to 17l usage .. but why...hmmm
Sure i know ppl say ohh even small holes in echaust means a lot or catalysts...
Anyway i should fix those abs vdc rear wheel speed sensor things first... Well all errors kinda comes from rear wheel.. but i changed sensors places still same wheel error c0045 means rear left. So if change abs sensors places didint changed then what...not many things left.. maybe bearing .. or then wiring or abs thing itself...

nah thank you no more snow or rain.. i want it dry and warm now... cus i need do some more work ... roday is +12 celcious.. and sunny .. thats how i like my spring to be ... sure its not gonan be that warm for long .. as allways... but at least for now ... ground dries more
some more work on rear trailing arm spacer
and can be seen in pics comparison how rear upper link is with 5cm spacer and 10cm spacer. clearly with 5cm spacer link is on angle so thats noot good.. yes they shot those bushings but there is no point to change them untill i make all good and straight.. then later i will change those... when i get all angles right...
and then in autumn all lift will be going away again back to stock as i will need to prepare car for MOT

and then worked again on that oil leak ... i mean 3rd time im removing all chains and all stuff ...just to find ... well cracked rubber ring sealant thingy ... well my luck... but i made tool to work on faster now ...
same day i was driving testing ... well started after midday and finished just before midnight .. and then drove at night for about an hour ... and i loved it ... damn could it be ... oil no coming for now ... damn ...

in couple hrs . .all removed and found those old rubber ring sealants... and one is realy hard and cracked in half ... just same as leak coming from.... i didint had exact rubber rings but i had some similar ones so i changed those that are in bottom and where my leak was ... well i changed just one ...couse just had one that almost fit there... but others where in ok state still so i left it and put all back ...

then i drove about 60 km with genesis - mama live 1987 song with video ... and was enjoying it ... it was allready after midnigh.. but i was just in some special state there .. like didint wanted sleep nothing ... i was so like excited .. like maybe i fixed that oil leak

or and some of my lights in dash where because bad ground cable ...


so its like almost all is fixed .. but just some random front abs sensor light comes up still ... but only that
steering wheel angle sensor was calibrated with autocom diagnostics .. and its all good ... dont need change anything there ...
