MUSIC who listens to what

The old guy's favorite music.

One of the greastest songs of all time!!!

I am a HUGE Rush fan.
I also like:
Dire Straits
Pink Floyd
Saga (remember them?)
Peter Frampton (He's still around and making great music)
Genesis
Within Temptation
Steely Dan
Porcupine Tree
The mighty Led Zeppelin
Queensryche
Albannach
Wicked Tinkers
Dream Theater
Brother
Wolfstone
John Lee Hooker
BB King

Johnny Cash, all of his stuff is classic.

I also like a lot of '80s bands like Simple Minds, Mr. Mister, Icehouse, Tears For Fears, Til Tuesday, etc.

I also like jazz, classical and my guilty pleasures are that I like some techno/trance stuff and old Motown.:monkeydance::discomonkey: I also LOVE bagpipes, I had a piper play at my wedding. ALBA GO BRAGH!

That is all, I have to go finish my coffee now...

RIP Adam 'MCA' Yauch. Sleep well in Brooklyn.

Moving right along ....

ABBA
Armstrong
Iron Butterfly
Moody Blues
Stones
PP&M
Seekers
Don McLean
Mike Oldfield
Belafonte
Brubeck
Don Burrows
Feliciano
Simon & Garfunkel
Cleo Laine

Mozart for his lyrical perfection; Beethoven for his incredible talent; Chopin for the exquisite series of individual, disconnected notes that our brains turn back into music ...

Cimarosa
Bach
Telemann
Sor

It's late; and I'm feeling buggered.
Almost anything except whining C&W, screamers, rappers, and crooners.

I have a Zune with about 15+ gig of music on it and I hit 'shuffle all' so I never know what's coming on. So what I'm listening to mostly at the moment is a band I like to think as the modern day Pink Floyd (imho) they are called,
Mutemath... a little rock a little electronic and all groove

Check out this Jam session they're touring Australia now and I'm gonna miss it :(

Brilliant musician, and bit of music IMO.

I haven't listened to it in far too long. I have it on vinyl, and setting up my "recording studio" (:rotfl:) has been a very low priority. When I have done this, I will dump much of my record collection onto CDR. I have an analogue CDR recorder attached to that system; then I clean up the track spacing etc using my computers and re-copy.

I have very ecclectic tastes in music. But, the following is a partial list:
Rush...I am a die-hard Rush fan, have been since 1974.
Albannach (Alba Gu Brath!)
Pink Floyd (usually from "Dark Side of the Moon" on)
Dire Straits
Within Temptation
Dream Theater
Queensryche
Porcupine Tree

I also like '80's (Mr. Mister, Icehouse, etc), jazz (Fouplay, Bob James, Rippingtons, etc), blues (John Lee Hooker and BB King, in particular), classical (mostly symphonic stuff like Beethoven, Haydn, Holst, etc.), Scottish piping music, some Electronica, and the list goes on...

Species, thanks for the MuteMath recommendation, they're quite good!

It's a brilliant album. I don't think i've ever heard a Mike Oldfield album that I haven't liked and enjoyed. I only have it on CD, and played through these:

I have a pair of 15" Tannoy Monitor Golds; and a pair of their 632 bookshelf speakers on the other system. Make a nice sound.

Having said that, I enjoy music ... the equipment is always secondary.

One of the things I like about Roo2 is that I can listen to nice music without gritting my teeth due to the noise of the car; or the crappiness of the stereo ... Also stops me listening to the news and parliamentary broadcasts; both of which I find profoundly depressing!

Spot on Ratbag - bad music is still bad music even with the best equipment!

My only wish in my Forester is to have an auxiliary plug into the car - that way I can have the iPod running with good sound. I have a transmitter that I use, but it can get interference, and drops out in tunnels etc. That will change if I replace the headunit at some point. No plans for that currently.
