I have a really cool boxed set of Virgin Prunes 10" vinyl singles. Who could forget Siouxsie :iconwink: and also The Sisters of Mercy? T.S.O.L. (True Sounds of Liberty) is another favorite.

Carl, goth rock. sweet. paint your face white and you remind me of one of the best song writers of all time? Robert Smith:discomonkey:

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned a great Australian band called "The Angels"
Who would have to be best remembered for an unforgettable line in one of their songs. I think we all know what the line is. :)
More like the line that wasnt in the lyrics, but the fans sang.

Yes Im an Angels fan as well - not a huge fan but it was stuff I grew up on.

I'll go old-school on you guys, too. I'm a huge Stray Cats fan - really a giant Brian Setzer fan in general. Early rock n roll, the old Johnny Cash too, Buddy Holly, early Elvis. Even Frankie Valley and stuff like that.

Other/Newer stuff- Guster, BNL, Metallica, Talking Heads, 90's alternative, INXS, lots of stuff. These are some toys of mine:

just bought the Temper Traps debut album (Conditions). its bloody awesome. if they keep writing music like this they'll go heaps far. I tend to listen to most everything except country and western (the commerical stuff I like old school things) I mean everything from Classical Music to Punk and even old school Rap. I mostly favor Alternative stuff like the Talking Heads and the like. Been listening to a lot of Cake lately since I just went to see them again :)

I have a link I'd like to pass on it's a place that will play music that you like along with similar stuff it's Pandora:

https://www.pandora.com

Pretty slick, there is even a phone app but my current phone can't run it :(

I usually listen to the site when I surf like now for instance ;)

I'm driven by music.
Too many bands/artists to name/remember, so I'll just mention one.
One of my all time favourite bands is KYUSS. This is all.

ELO-Out of the Blue was one of my favorite albums when I was growing up. I kind of forgot about it until a couple of years ago when my sister gave me a copy and asked "when was the last time you listened to this?" It Still !!!

Metallica - Black Album , AC/DC, Guns N Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Disturbed, Offspring, - all that good stuff.

Nowadays i listen to mostly Texas Red Dirt Music (country with a twist of rock) like Pat Green (old stuff), Cory Morrow, Aaron Watson, Turnpike Troubadours, Wade Bowen, Cody Canada (formerly of cross canadian ragweed), Bart Crow Band, Reckless Kelly, Randy Rogers Band, etc..They are taking the trash Nashville calls country & putting it in the gutter! Here's some stuff for anyone open to listening. really is great music! If you want more, let me know, i can send some your way ;)

**When I'm in Outback Australia I love Slim Dusty & John Williamson!**

More importantly, I actively seek and destroy people who like modern pop music.....any Kesha fans - be afraid! Anyone who listens to that new autotuned bullsh*t drivel polluting the airwaves deserves to be crucified with thumbtacks!

Another John Williamson fan here!

While we are on the subject of Country & Western....

As a city kid growing up I never got into country music, I was more electro-punk-goth-industrial like OGJON and carljwnc (in fact I had the same dyed black hair!)......but as an adult exploring the countryside and venturing into one-pub towns in the middle of nowhere you develop a love for it.

Here is an example, recently during my SA Outback trip I happened to be at the Prairie Hotel in Parachilna one night when this singer - John O'Dea was playing. He did a song called "Under a Parachilna Sunset" and I must admit I had goosebumps. To be out there experiencing the magic that had caused him to write the song in the first place was truly memorable. As a result, here is a plug for John O'Dea, an awesome storyteller, songwriter, guitarist and vocalist. https://www.johnodea.com.au/ - and for those of you who have been lucky enough to visit Parachilna, make sure you have a listen to "Under a Parachilna Sunset". He captures the vibe perfectly.
