What have you done to your car today?

Lights and tire carrier installed and . Saving fot tires an rims and lift now.

Looks good! Can't wait till ya get it lifted and reshod.:iconwink:

Fixed up a few things on my 82 coupe. Pulled out the heater/fan blower and removed the fistfull of foam which was caught up in the fan. Remove the resistor for the 4 - speed fan control and did some soldering to fix that up. Swapped out the oil, filter and put in a new sump plug. In the process of replacing a broken actuator for the temp control... got it out from behind the dash but i need to find a replacement somewhere. Also silicon spray/lubed all of the cables for the heater tap valve control to get it moving a little easier.

Washed my Foz exterior in prep for a full detail i am giving it, it should come up good with a buff and a bit of an interior crud clean out. Wrote out a list of to do's, tomorrow i will order new tyres, then get the struts done.

New tyres on Yoko AT-S 215/65/R16 new interior LED globes x2 another 2 coming from Hong Kong, temp fix to my exhaust rattling, ordered some new protectors for my spotties, and more cleaning, all up a $1000 day

Gave it a good service inc filters and a gut full of Nulon Synth 5W40. Out of all the oils i have tried inc Mobil1 for 8 years, this one seems to please my car and my kms per Litre best.

I did a hand brake adjustment today, as well as fitting up a new serpentine belt including new idler and tensioner pulley bearings. I've put the old belt and an extra two spare bearings in the back of the car for emergency spares. There was still a bearing noise which I've traced to the altenator, so I've ordered a new one from the US. According to some local auto elec's the stock mitsubishi H6 alternator aren't really rebuildable, apparently they have needle roller bearings in the back. The new alt is a Bosch that came on the US H6's, I'm hoping it's a straight bolt up job and Bosch items are designed to be rebuilt.

Fitted up a different dual range cable as the one i put back in the car after the DCCD conversion wasn't selecting L/R properly. I only used it once on the Wyperfeld trip as a result. Now it's working perfectly which means I'm looking forward to using it on the next trip

Clocked over 4000km on the new EJ25, I have the new computer wired up. Just waiting to get it dyno'ed.
Ordered my SG rear struts, replace a front CV, new Oxygen sensor from ebay and rotated the tyres. Currently done 30,000km on my Dunlop Grandtrek AT/3's in 225/70R15. They are wearing pretty average and I think I'll be replacing them soon. I think I will be going back to Geolander AT-S's in 235/75R15 on some Audi rims like Venom and Dulagarl.
Looking to change my brakes to WRX 4 pots on the front and 2 pots on the back.

Got the rear half of my project finished yesterday. Lower strut bolts were wound on tight!!! I now own an impact wrench. Front end disassembly is well underway, wanted to at least get to the point to know if I was going to encounter any other sticky fasteners. All good so far, once I get the ball joints and tie rod ends out, should be smooth sailing till I get to the alignment shop.

Every time I vacuum the sand and gravel out of my car, I destroy another vacuum cleaner. No kidding! I've destroyed three vacuum cleaners in the last ten years or so, and every single time it's been the bloody car that killed it. They just can't take the diet of neat gravel.

Anyway, I've taken to going round to my friend's house and doing it with blow instead of suck. Just park it in front of the shed and whoosh it out with the compresser. Takes a while 'case you have to go over it a few times, especially if you don't have a handy breeze to help, but it does the job. Indeed, in some aspects it does a better job.

Anyway, I blasted the sand out of the old girl yesterday and the driveway gravel is that little bit deeper now.

Strut/brake/front end job complete!!! Dropped it off at the alignment shop just as they were closing last night, will know the results after work today.

:discomonkey: Great news Carl!!
LMK when we ride...:iconwink:

I am really going to be crushed for time as soon as August hits, I'm hoping to go do my gravel 'Tour 'de Pisgah' sometime in the next couple weeks, but it will probably be a spur of the moment thing. If possible, I'll give you a heads up.

I can actually Drive the car now!!! Before it was like guiding it gently to my destination. Un-real difference, sometimes you don't realize how bad something is until you fix it, especially since it's had those issues since I got it.

Glad that's worked out so well for you Carl.

I had similar feelings when I first got Roo2. Compared with Roo1, very "dreamy" handling! It wasn't what I was expecting.

Upping the tyre pressures to around 34-36 psi helped, but the floaty feeling didn't go away.

When I had the new tyres fitted, and the four wheel alignment done - all were within spec, but all pointing in different directions :puke: - suddenly it was a completely different car! Much more like Roo1. Stable, predictable.

It appears that our Subies are very sensitive to alignment and suspension parts. I think it comes from how finely designed they are. We are spoiled by the quality of design and manufacture, for all that they aren't actually handed down from on high ... :rotfl:.

Tour 'de Pisgah' jaunt

The Foz is pointed West as I type. LMK!

That is great to hear & I know what you mean mate :p
As things deteriorate slowly, you don't seam to notice them all that much.
But once you have it/them fixed, you just say & think to yourself, why didn't I just do it sooner
