What have you done to your car today?

Put my Foz in parts...rear bearing and box...and opened the STI box, ready for the transfer :lildevil:

Also took a few pics :iconwink:

Thats great news jf1sf5

Looking forward to seeing the pics & hearing how it all goes once it's transferred

Not quite as exciting as pulling apart an Sti box....

Changed my rear exhaust rubbers as I had used some cheap aftermarket ones that had perished to the point of failure within 3 months.

In the end I spent a bit more and went genuine Subaru, as the originals ones had done 100,000 mikes, so these should see me right for a while.

Clearing the gear off the roof to make room for our new RTT. I moved the CB antenna to the front bumper, not sure how I feel about it out there. Can't decide if it looks cool or trying too hard. I guess the SWR meter will decide.

Picked up some abrasion resistant cable wrap to cover the parts of the wiring harness that is exposed due to the bumper. Will report back on that one in my member's journal.

Put in my 2" body lift kit with 1" rear spacers the other day with Venom's help (many thanks ). To centre the rear wheels I made up some trailing arms extended by 20mm & painted them. If the weather allows I'll put them in tomorrow & also do my control arm bushes. Pics when I get a chance...

Not today, but yesterday I removed my old radiator that had a crack in one of the plastic tanks and installed a new one. Also flushed the old coolant from the engine and used some brand new coolant. And while I was at it, I replaced both upper and lower radiator hoses as well as the thermostat. As I already had the cooling fans out I gave them both a good wipe down and removed all the grit and grime from the blades and housings. I did the same with the overflow reservoir and the two mounting brackets that go on top of the radiator. I like to clean the parts I intend to reuse before I reinstall them.

This rad swap was surprisingly easy compared to the other vehicles I have done this same job on.

Me too mate, I hate putting dirty parts back in alongside new shiny parts

When I replace my radiator a little while back, I too was surprised at how easy it was to do also :)

Great stuff NachaLuva, looking forward to seeing the pics :)

Worked every evening of the week on my Foz, wheel bearing has been changed, swapped the 1,45 with the 1,59 low range but it wasn't as "easy" as I thought, had some machining to do, nearly finished though !

The DCCD was the easiest, just plug and play !

Pics to come...

I followed Phizinza's write up and pics in the transmission and driveline section, it was very good help.

On a 4 bolt EJ20 box with 1,45:1 DR and 4,11 ratio, the 1,59:1 "just" doesn't fit by a half a millimeter...had to do some machining but this metal was damn hard (don't know the name in english, "balladeur" in french).

The bearing at the entry of the EJ20 box is too big (inside diameter 28mm vs 25 for the EA, none available at a specialized shop) so we had to make a ring out of the EA bearing.

All in all, it was very interesting :)

^ Interesting, that's good to know that it only just doesn't fit..

I'll be going down this route soon but with an 8 bolt box. Have you found there is a huge difference between the 1.44 low an the 1.59?

Well my EJ20 finally died on friday night. 30,000km of knocking, 7 months of thrashing and it gave in. Can't complain really but all I can say is bring on the EJ25 :lildevil:

Tried to fit a set of set of Cibie Super Oscars to my bullbar that I keppt when i sold my Pajero. The lights looked awesome, but sadly I did not have enough room under the top bar to get them to sit upright  No risk of blinding anyone :rotfl:
Looks like I will need to buy new lights.

Could you change the mounting so they sit forward a little? Only thing is if you hit something they would be the first things to go.
