What have you done to your car today?

Started noticing the forester misfiring on a couple occasions w/ the check engine light coming on - but not always. Today i swapped out the plugs & wires for bosch platinums & bosch wires (totaling about $38). Doesn't seemed to have stopped the misfire though. Going to check out ig. coil & fuel filter next..

also check your vacuum hoses to things like the manifold gas pressure sensor. One of mine came loose once and the car ran terrbly until I re-fitted it.

4" lift, 29" tires, AT to MT d/r swap(from forester sf5), welded rear diff, front driver seat from gc8(recaro style), and a few things to complete - wheel spacers 2"(now 1,25"), re-weld shifter, and shorten front struts spacers from 17cm(6.7") to 14cm(5.5")(chattering in corners).
rear strut spacers - 18cm(~7").
poweder coated almost all susupension(exept struts and front crossmember), wheels. blue RAL code - 5015, orange - 2007.

Gidday Taza

Done 1500km in less than a week just around Perth and on the new motor. Still running like a dream :iconwink:

Great to hear, mate

Did a insane rutty/gravel hill climb that was about 60degrees in the foz the other night. Was awesome, want to do it again and get it on video!! :lildevil:

60°? ... :iconwink:
Love to see a piccy of the inclinometer Taz ... ;)  :poke:

Sounds as though most of your troubles were down to all the crap wrong with your engine mate. Glad it is running so sweetly for you, at long last.
Long may it continue ... :)

It was a bloody steep hill I'll give you that, I scrapped the bumpers abit on both.gping up and down. used low first and probs should of used low 2ND as I had way too much wheel spin. Thank God I didn't have a turbo behind otherwise I would of smoked up the tyres on the climb. Haha

Yeah the new engine has really transformed the car. I still have about 10minor things I fix... Wheel bearing, timing belt & water pump, CV that's creaking, stereo keeps blowing fuses, ABS light is on and it is completely filthy inside and out so needs a good wash.
Just little things but atleast it's still driveable :)

Replaced a CV, wheel bearing, gearbox oil, fixed a exhaust rattle (missing bolt), checked oil, pumped up tyres and did a few other things to the foz today.

Interesting fact! Did you know that El_Freddo only lives 3,250km (roughly) from where I live in Perth. lol :rolleyessarcastic: :poke:

The answer is most probs you don't know, but I was bored and had Google available  :raspberry:

Sold my L-Series today :( I was pretty upset, not enough to cry though but I miss it.

Was one awesome little car and I will certainly buy another one in the future :lildevil: I am glad it went to a Subaru Enthusiast though who is over here in Aus on a visa(from New Zealand). She has an L-Series over there and has had a few in the past, I know it will be looked after and used the way it was intended for :raspberry:

Well I have fixed my car to a point so that nothing is broken on it and I haven't done any mods in ages so I think I deserve a little treat. haha
I keep planning the mods though  :iconwink:

Rooftop tent storage

Not what I did to my car but to my shed.

I wanted to do a bit of practice with the MIG so I knocked up a couple of brackets to store my roof top tent up and out of the way.

Now I just need someone to help me lift it up there. :poke:

how about some hooks and a pulley system that hauls ii up and tie it off to keep it up there? That way you don't need a second person to get it on and off.

I am envious though, wish i had a shed and a mig...

Ah well, if it makes you feel better, my wife keeps calling it "our" shed and trying to put things in it; the MIG isn't mine; and when the rooftop tent is on, it doesn't quite fit under the roller door, otherwise it would have been a one man job utilising an unnecessarily complex system of levers and pullies.
