Guide to 15" Audi rims that fit over Subaru 4 pot brake

Did they scrape just lightly or badly?

Fitted my centre caps today

I believe they are good wheels...but paint them in black :iconwink:

After looking at taza's A3 rims it appears his R12 nuts are not making contact on all of the ball seat. From what i can find on the internetz, stock Audi should be an R13 ball seat. Theres a lot of people advising it is fine to run an R12 in an R14 seat so it might not all be doom and gloom and taza has had no issues so far, however I thought I'd bring it up.

"All Audi vehicles using a 5x112 or 5x100 bolt pattern use a 14mm diameter bolt with a 1.5 thread pitch. OEM Audi wheels (Q5 and Q7 excluded) use an R13 ball seat bolt, Q5 and Q7 use an R14 ball seat bolt"

Now that's a real trap, for both safety and vehicle integrity.

Just curious - will these Audi rims fit over the SG brake calipers? There's plenty of these Audis here in NZ as Japanese imports so wheels aren't too expensive, would be great with a set of those Kumho muddies...

Should fit any caliper with a 297mm diameter rotor or smaller.

Early or later type? 4 pot calipers are the same regardless of market (same part number) and I had no issues with my 4pots which are the earlier raised lettering type. Certainly can't fit the stick on wheel weights on the fronts where they normally do with the 4 pots calipers, needs to be on the back of the spoke or somewhere else. The weights have definitely rubbed a couple of times for me now before falling off and finding a better spot.

SG series I front rotor is 294 mm according to the technical brochure.

Not sure about the SG series II as to whether it uses the same diameter rotors, or not ....

Newer 4 pots. We tried the audi's in an Outback with a set and it chewed out about 2mm deep scratch around the rim right behind the spoke.
Pulled the off fairly quickly.

Series 2 SG is the same as series 1.

Venom; I hqve my weights on the outside of the rim...

I agree. I kept the stock wheel bolts off the audi wreck my wheels came from and they appear to be R13 to me.

The R12 nuts dont quite fill the hole fully.

I searched high and low and couldnt find r13 nuts anywhere.

scored a unused mint (still in original boxes!) set of 5 with centre caps.
Does anyone have spare nuts/rings they can sell?
or go in a group buy?

I am finally getting around to fitting these to my car. How did you guys get the hub centric rings to fit into the wheels? I had a quick go before and they seemed very tight. Like they would need to be pressed in?

I've been fitting hub rings for years, at most they should need a firm push by hand?

slept on it and it turned out to be a non issue.

i just cleaned the hubs up a bit and fitted the rings to the hubs first. then pulled the rims onto the rings with the wheel nuts. Nice tight fit and no vibration.
