New Forester Coming Soon!!

Some more pics here: https://www.autoblog.com/photos/2014-subaru-forester-spy-photos/

The speculation seems to be that the XT (at least the 2.0 they get outside of Aus) will switch from a top-mounted to a front-mounted intercooler, hence the loss of the scoop.

i think it will still be top mounted but have a similar air intake system to the intercooler like many cars such as the new xv and the toyota diesel prado.

i do hope they keep the bonnet scope, makes the turbo look more agressive :lildevil:

I don't like he idea of a front mounted intercooler, especially if you plan to take it off the black stuff :shake:
It just spells disaster if you ask me

And after seeing the new "spy pics" ....YUK.... I don't like it at all :puke:

But thats just me.

Once again I'd really like to see it in the flesh, as photo's can make it or break it.

Gidday Mr T

Actually, I would go so far as to say f'ugly ... :puke:

As for its being even bigger than the SH ... What can one say?
Except maybe "Tribeca" ... :iconwink: :rotfl:

I have an XV and a friend has a 07 Forester, the boot space is like chalk and cheese. I have boot envy! In the pictures of the new Foz there seems to be little size difference compared to the XV and if the 35mm overall length difference quoted above is correct this will mean there is a big reduction in boot space compared to the older models. The approach and departure angles look to be decreased and 17 in rims means less off road tyre choices. (one pic had 18 in tyres, even less choice) 80kph spare tyre? Maybe the Diesel wont come to Australia like what they did with the XV?
Who knows!

Looks like longer version of XV
And does not look good IMHO
I think 2009-2013 model will be very popular on pre-owned market if new one looks like it look on spy photos

It looks at least as big as the present model Forester so why do you think Subaru would make it any smaller inside? At least give them credit for knowing their intended market. Some of the speculations being made from a couple of distorted images don't really have much foundation..

by the looks size is the about the same as the current
tyre choice will be limited for sure, which means second hand 16's will become more popular
the stock sump guard is a massive improvement over the ****ty plastic cover

These pics look better than the first lot. I am with Mr T i will wait till i get to see it in the metal before i decide. Does look to be about the same size as the current car.

Do we usually get the new model before or after the U.S??

Gidday Thunder

I'm sure it will be a good car, but it's even larger than the existing SH.
Personally, I don't like the additional size of the SH over the SG, but SWMBO (whose car it is) likes it, and it's smaller (just) than her previous wide-body Camry, even though much higher. It feels much bigger when in the hot seat.

I am hoping that it will still have the DR tranny. Regardless of what the ratios say, the DR is much more flexible in actual driving than having just a single range 6 speed.

The front of the new one is even fussier than the SH, which means more bugs to clean out of difficult places from a sheerly practical PoV. As it is, it takes me twice as long (and a step ladder ... ) to wash RonnyRoo than it does to wash Roo2, just because the front is not a clean design like Roo2, and I am vertically challenged ... :poke: :rotfl:.

did anyone else notice the power output for the turbo 186kw!:monkeydance:
I did

As for the sump guard, yes it is a great upgrade, compared to the plastic splash guard that they come with now

But I have to ask ...... will it be standard or is it just another way to them money, by having it as an add on only :eviltoyou:
