Saw this on facebook & got a good laugh out of it. Already 104.5f (40.3c) outside. :shake:
Still have 2 and a half months before it starts to cool down...

Thats great dirtyRU

40c for us over here in W.A is the average summers day:cool: But now its winter and cold.... and what I call cost is like 15c

Wow you guys really find that hot :poke:
100f (~40c) is nice, I drive around with my Foz windows all down and enjoy the day. Most of the time I head down the beach. When it gets over that though its quite warm and time for the air con to be turned on and inside the house.
But im the opposite I don't like the cold from anywhere below 20c. When its snows though thats a different story. Not like it happens in my state though...

Another day in paradise! The humidity from the Gulf is what makes these temps suck so much.

How humid does it get there??? I know in much of the southwest 100deg. is much more bearable because the humidity is pretty low. Here it gets to be in the 80-90's with about the same % humidity and that's what makes it so miserable.

Unfortunately, the southwest you speak of is more waaay west Texas, NM & AZ. Where we are, til a couple hours west of here, is all affected by the gulf, which brings in all that shotty humidity. Once you get west to like the Big Bend through El Paso area, then it's affected more by the pacific currents, which are much dryer. 115 in Arizona would be like the 90s here. I had to go to Scottsdale for a couple of days last July for an Insurance Conf. One day it got up to 117, & i thought it felt great! The hot isn't what kills a person, it's the humidity. Which is why those yanks up in New York start to croke when it hits 90.
I remember us going through Northeast Tennesee on our way home from our Asheville trip, after a detour on the Blue Ridge Parkway (had to get off early because of construction :( ) and it was soooooooooooooooooo muggy! This was mid november too. Of course hours after we left, a freakin snow storm hit, so we missed that fun.... Just like Florida in the summer time.. Except now i hear from my bro-in-law that it's so dry, the whole state is nearly on fire! It the same where your in-laws live?

I don't know what the humidity is like down there, but my mother-in-law said they were in drought conditions yesterday. She didn't mention any fires, but seems like every time we go down there something is burning. The wife and kids are going down in a few weeks, I'm sure I'll hear more about it then.

Yes thats hot, but for us here down under, thats just the norm for our days in summer. I personally hate the heat, but you get used to it
We are currently having the opposite weather though, especially the last few days with it being so bitterly cold.

Regards

Likewise Mr. Turbo, i'm to the point now where i'm sick of the heat. Summer hasn't even officially started yet, & these temps showed up about a month & a half early, so i imagine it's just going to be that much worse later on.
The main reason the wife & i have our sights set on Colorado next August

Yeah 40 deg is pretty average here in AUS. Last summer we had a whole month of 40+ degrees and the worst part was it was around 100% humidity the entire time too. And got up to 50 degrees at one point.

Like the popcorn. :rotfl: 2X on the Colorado comment. If it weren't so dadgum cold in Wyoming or Montana, thats where I'd be looking to retire to. To many liberals in CO. for me.

Yeah, i know what you mean. I always thought Salt Lake would be a cool place, but if i don't mix well with the dirty hippies in ATX, then i sure wouldnt do well there. I think that if my love for the mountains gives me one thing in common with them in CO, i figure i might be fine! Montana or Wyoming would be awesome, but way to remote for my wife. CO will be a stretch for her. She wants to dig her toes around in the sand at a beach with all the crowds while i would rather backpack up a mountain.

I love a good hot summer - but the last one we just had sucked where I was, Lakes Entrance. I've never seen such a wet summer, at least not that I can really remember! We had ONE day over 45 degrees, actually it was the one day in the 40's when it hit 47 degrees. A great day!

The rest were cold, wet, windy or just cold and overcast :(

In other good news the winter seems to be going ok so far although we do have a week (we're half way now) of really sunny weather, which isn't a bad thing, just that it's not good for the snow. Today was a barmy 5 degrees C! Almost shorts and Tshirt weather!

Cheer

Bennie

It nearly hit 110 degrees here today (according to all my thermometers placed around my house) The Subaru said it was 113. ;) I'm so done with the heat, I want to move to Colorado so badly, it was a nice 79 degrees where I want to be!!!

Tuesday: 8 degrees C - shorts and T shirt weather!
Wednesday (today): Just over 5 degrees. Pretty much shorts and T shirt weather.

The snow is disappearing fast!

Cheers

Bennie

Alrighty, so with today hitting 106(F), it was our 50th day since the end of may for triple digit heat. With another month to go before a slight cool down, it looks like we are well on our way to breaking the record of 68 days with triple digits. Not too shabby for an area with an "average" of 12 above 100degree days a year. Need to get the :censored: outta here!

 That's crazy!!!! We had a nice cool down last week, down to 70's and 80's, then I went to KY and OH, High 90's with the heat index up around 110ish, I drank a lot of water.
