Got dogs?

Here is the latest pic I snapped of Rocko in my backyard. Handheld, with a Canon 60D and a 50mm fixed lens. Love this camera, takes some great pics. Dog is even better! Haha.

Wow Blue Fox, what an awesome photo of Rocko :raz:

I can't believe he is now 6yrs old.

I remember reading of how you guys first met & just how kind you were & what you did for him at that time :yourock:

this is me an my buddy cruising in the foz the other day.
hes just over 13yo now and unfortunately just been diagnosed with tumors on his spleen
he's been a great mate and we're making the most of it at the moment. altho if you met him you wouldn't know there was a single issue !!?
the vet's not sure how bad they are or how long he's got but i've chosen to let him see his time out rather than put him thru operations and the recovery needed. he's got shepherd in his mix and arthritis is getting pretty bad in his back end. he still goes hard when we go out but runs out of puff a little quicker.
we've travelled, camped, 4x4'd, surfed, swum, fished, chased sticks and balls, wrestled and got up to alsorts over the years ...

obsessed ... he's a beautiful friend, and I think spending time with him & being free spirits is a great tribute to the bond you both share. Enjoy. Every second.

Best regards,

Great shots BlueFox!

Pete and I are working security detail, again.
We've been broken into 2 times recently at work.

obsessed, sounds like you're treating your best buddy right. Sorry to hear the news, but sounds like the rest of his life is going to be great.:)

It is truly sad how many folks just drop their senior dogs off at a shelter, or just abandon them somewhere when they find out that they are terminally ill.

Gravel, looks like Pete is being accompanied by another 'security enhancement' device there. :iconwink: Hope you are able to keep the burglars at bay.

Yes, very sad indeed.
I don't know how these people sleep at night, I really don't.

All I can say is that they're supposed to be your best friend & best friend for life.

Regards
Mr Turbo

Thanks guys, he's definitely getting more spoilt than normal.
As long as he's happy and not in pain is the main thing :)

I think these days people are too much in the disposable mind set - if it's broken or it's stopped being fun just get rid of it ....

Dogs to me are just as much a member of the family as anyone else in the house.
I'm also a firm believer of the "there's no such thing as a bad dog, just bad owners" mind set.

These sort of threads on forums alway make me smile, everyone showing off the mates like they were their kids - proud parents of their fur children :)

I know its hard but I think you're doing the right thing

Yeah its disturbing what some people do.

I like the saying "pets are for life not just for Christmas"!

Glad to hear

I totally agree!

Yep, I totally agree. I would do anything for my dog, and do anything to protect him. He's more a friend/companion to me than some of my closest friends.

Here's a shot, from a few weeks ago, when Pete was hanging out it the waiting room while Penny was giving birth.
I'll post up a bunch of the pups once we get caught up from the routine of 12 dogs, oh and moving too..

Moving can be stressful at the best of times, but with 12x dogs (10 of which are puppies) in tow & at the same time
Now that must have been lots of fun :p

Love the pic of Pete hanging out it the waiting room too

Mr Turbo

He's the most relaxed looking father-in-waiting I've ever seen lol :iconwink:

Good luck with the move...its such fun isnt it

Luckily the pups are staying at work and not being uprooted. Eventually we'll rotate Pete/Penny from the store to the new place and back. One at each place at all times.

It has been over a month now that our 12 year old Hershey passed. I miss her and think about her every day. She was special.

We found another rescue mutt at the Cashiers Highlands Humane Society. Not that far from where Carl lives. We love our "mountain dogs".

Our daughter named her Rory after the Gilmore Girls character.

She came with worms, kennel cough and a UT tract infection. All of which are now under control.

Who me, dig??

She tends to follow me everywhere. Never once cried at night. She is very affectionate and family orientated. Rory has filled the void left by Hershey.
