What have you done to your car today?

^ indeed. I was on a club trip in 2012 (?) and we rescued a Great Wall wagon that had snapped studs and lost a wheel. In our group we had a variety of wheel studs and managed to find 3 that were a fit so they were able to travel slowly to the nearest town to get it fixed.

Samlove that's infuriating, I hate sloppy service like that :(

Very very lucky! Good work

Unplugged the battery of my outback to reset the factory head unit - had been hung over the weekend displaying "connected to mobile telephone via bluetooth" and doing nothing else.

Replacement gearbox is going in! My old one has a suspect passenger side output shaft bearing, and a pretty crunchy 2nd gear synchro.. Fingers crossed this replacement is as good as the dude says it is. He was going to use it in his brumby then lost interest, but tarted it up with a bit of silver paint.

Was my first time removing an L series box, bloody hell I wish I knew to remove the gearbox cross member, it comes so close to clearing I thought I just had to wiggle it enough and it should drop out. Gave up after 1hr of mucking around and pulled the member off and she dropped right out..

Taking this opportunity to do the rear main seal, new Exedy clutch, ball joints, new discs and pads! It feels bad having the car apart like this when its NOT for an EJ conversion.. I was hoping I would have gotten to that by now.

Drank some coffee while filling up with fuel?

Haha. It's just using max HP when accelerating to get the engine to flex a bit. I did it in an on-ramp and I do it every 3 months. I usually just cruise to my destinations for good fuel consumption.

The EJ203 purred instead of roared.

^ haha, ABF.

I do that when I drive SWMBO's auto SH. Slip it into sports mode and give it some stick. Helps keep the engine clean.

Well, I'll just rattle off what I have done to my L Series wagon in the last 4 weeks:

Swapped in good second hand gearbox + shaft seals
Machined flywheel, new exedy clutch, rear main seal
New ball joints, new tie rod ends
New brake discs and pads
New dizzy cap and leads
New front wheel bearings + seals

Holy heck, it drives like a new car! Summer here I come!!
