Not quite sure what I'm going to do with it yet, Would look pretty wild with a lift and some muddies on it..
:monkeydance:

They’re a hard car to find, hence the offer. The real turning point is when they’re waving that amount of cash at you as they make the offer!

Hopefully it’s an easy fix. Then it’s time to enjoy, or got more work to be done?

Cheers

Pick up day today!
Just in time for the weekend, might do a mini lap of the Tablelands if it's not bucketing with rain.
give the Air-con a bit of a test too.
I really should have got the guys next door to the mechanics to put some tunes in it, but I was getting worrried about the cost of the transmission repair.

It's home!

Going to give it a good clean tomorrow morning, then take it for a nice long drive.
No tunes in it apart from the EG-33 when you give it a bit of stick, that's a beautiful sound and easily makes up for music :)

Well it's been a while...
Put some tunes in it, 6.5" (I think) touchscreen, new speakers.
Fixed the aerial it had been bent a bit so wouldn't go down all the way. Straightened it as much as possible then gave the bulgy bit it a teeny grind with the Dremel and now it works :)

Been for quite a few drives in it, lots of windy roads and some straight bits, which you could really get some pace on if it was allowed :(

Visited a client in Innisfail, he's trying to convince me I should go in the Targa up here.

Tinted the windows. Stayed legal, would have been nice to go darker but it looks pretty sweet as is. That ended up being very reasonable, as when I picked up the car they hadn't put the door lock thingy back on the drivers side door. Looked all round the shop for it but couldn't find it. I gave them a week to see what they could do, but they couldn't get a replacement. ended up refunding me the cost of the tinting which was nice.

Then the other day, I thought I may as well take the door panel off and hey presto, there it was, just to one side. fitted snug as a bug, no rattling or noise to give its position away. So I popped it back into place (a bit fiddly to keep it there) and put the trim back on. Happy days.

Starting to think about suspension...
There's a fair bit to be done there I think.
Plus I need to replace pretty much every bush in the car.
I've found this site but know nothing about Strongflex. They're Polish. Has anyone heard of them/had experience with their products? it's about AU$650 plus shipping (AU$200!) for the full kit.

Unfortunately, I still think it's a wasted car in Australia. Took it for another run up to the Daintree then the Tablelands. Might have gone a bit harder than usual because fuel consumption was up. ;)
Fun though, very enjoyable overtaking on open roads... :)

Rough costing of new suspension at current exchange rate:

Complete set of bushes, from Strongflex in Poland: AU$930.00
Hot Bits DT1: $AU2350.00
Tyres: Michelin Latitude Cross 235X60R16 X 4: AU$1500.00 (unless someone can suggest something else that would fit with a decent speed rating and Off-road capability!)
Give or take a bit.
Probably give more than a bit.. ;)

Man's gotta dream.

Then I'd have to do the paint: Rhino/Speedliner the dark grey (bottom third) of the car. Then whack on the lights and drive to Perth: The Longest Shortcut.
Should just about make it before they pave it all.

Man's gotta hallucinate!
