Lift Pattern (DIY Lift Kit Information)

My country problem that we no have those aftermarket bolts here . must order from amazon or ebay and wait for couple weeks . plus pay lots for postage.
I thought maybe i could make them from original bolts or weld some and grind some on smaller bolts to make them kinda like aftermarket ones.

That's way cheaper than paying for repairs after the wheel comes off, plus hospital bills!

Think about it, if the wheel/hub assembly comes off you will lose control & have no way to avoid oncoming traffic like a big truck or a bus full of school children. Are you really worried about a few dollars postage?

Hello from bonnie Scotland,

Im wanting to make my own 2 inch front and 2.5 inch rear lift for my 2004 SG Forester.
I have gone over soooooo many forum post and this one seams to be the best. So,

1. Does anyone have any 1.1 drawings i could just print off.
2. The offset for a 2 inch lift is 7MM, what about for the rear 2.5 lift?
3. Also what did you guys do regarding the rear trailing arm spacers?

4. How much would a kit cost if i was to buy one?

Thnaks

Trailing arm spacers need to have bracing to stop them rocking when you hit a pothole, speed bump, rut, etc.

4. How much would a kit cost if i was to buy one?

A 2" lift kit with camber & caster offset and rear trailing arm spacers is £425 GBP with FREE shipping to the UK.
2.5" rear spacers are an extra $20 to correct any butt sag.

2.5" front 3" rear with 3" trailing arm spacers is also available for £495 GBP with FREE shipping.

Hello NachaLuva,
Thank you for the info and quote, that looks really cool.
I think I'm going to make up my own set, it looks quite easy but you never know I might be ordering your kit if it all goes to ****.
Any info on the offset for the 2.5 rear spacers?

Hope you understand if I can't give out any information. I've spent a lot of time, money & energy perfecting my kits & can't give away my secrets...

Yeah no worries at all, I felt bad even asking but you never know.

that 2'' offset 7mm is for foresters and outbacks same ? and that offset goes to inside car straight or it has some caster as well . i mean some kits says camber and caster offset. so what makes caster then ? i think as car looks lifted it would need just little caster moved to front.

Hi guys, how are you?

Did anyone here have the draw/pattern for the SH Forester?

I live in Brazil and it's not possible to buy a kit from anyone overseas at this time, so I decided to make my kit by my one.

I can pay for the files.

Thanks!

Carlo

G'day & Welcome Carlo!

Good luck with your search.

Hi, I would like to make the front spacers, but I can not do without a drawing that would be right to weld the upper part of the spacer to the bottom, in the right ratio. As in the photo above. 2 " Forester sg5. If someone can help me, I will be very grateful.

Hello everybody!
I would like to have such spacers with camber and caster offsets, but I can not order it from my country. However, I think I'm able to make it myself if I had some drawings or camber/caster offset parameters. Please help me, can't find any good info about that.

just take normal straight spacers diagram and then shift top plate to one side. i couldnt find that myself so i just made it as i thought and camber was fixed. just shift it as much as you can i could about 70mm to one side from original bolts and that was enough to fix camber .

70mm ??? You probably wanted to write 7mm....

Caster is important too, so a few mm towards the back is also to be considered.

Exactly, I want to fix caster. So I just need to move one of the plates towards the back and outside? It seems it is necessary to rotate a little bit also..

I have'nt done any lift blocks on my Forester but I know the principle of the geometry !

To fix caster, you need to weld the lower plate towards the rear of the car. To fix camber, you need to weld the lower plate towards the middle (inside) of the car. If you go for 1" lift, all this is not necessary but it is for a 2" lift.

Not sure you need to rotate anything though as I can't see any reason for it (or maybe just to gain a few mm of camber because the lower plate comes too close to the inside of the wheel arch)

Yes 7mm. That all i could move more would be even better. I just visualised its its my head and moved
And you need fix camber here not caster , caster its fine there did aligment and all just fine. How could you change caster by rotation anyway? But yes i saw that they rotate them on newer models.
Generally just move them like this
