Replacing Shock Absorber

That sounds better. If you bought the KYB's and went in with them. Got MSS to supply the springs and fit then you might save abit more.. :iconwink:

Sounding like Covs is the way to go for the KYB's and then do the rest of MSS. Sounds like a plan!

Last time I had any struts done it was the front struts in our Camry. $150 each, fitted ...

KYB replacements are definitely gas

The general consensus is gas performs better but doesnt last as long, esp on corrugated roads. I'd guess the oil might be a little softer too...

Thanks, NachaLuva. That would likely tip my choice towards the gas replacement struts from KYB, as I don't do any long distances off-road, just an occasional detour.

^ they may have been replaced because it had suspension work (lowered) done on it before he brought it?

I have new rear struts for the dulagarl which are SG series. Stamped "Subaru" and "KYB". they were sourced from Subaru.

I concur with Kevin on the OEM struts. I swapped the wheels from 2002 to my 2004 on the weekend and check the struts on all four corners. Both vehicles have KYB on the front and Tokico (self levelling) struts on the rear.
When finances permit I will be putting on all four corners raised Kings/KYBs on the 2002 as one of the self levelling struts is stuffed.

Looks good but DONT get SF rear struts, you'll kick yourself if you do! Get SG rear struts, gives bit extra height & more tyre to spring perch clearance

I just changed to SG rear shocks(3 weeks ago) and gained another 30mm of lift in the back end. Was a good move.
Personally I wouldn't bother changing the front shocks. I'm happy to help out if you want? I can get the Kings and KYB's at trade price through work if you like and give you a hand to install em??

Thought they were SG to be honest, thanks for pointing that out NL. Hopefully going to replace something soon, everytime I hop in the car I don't enjoy the drive!!

Taza, thanks for the offer, have sent you a PM!

Thanks to taza, got some front KYB shocks and two pairs of Raised Kings on order today!

Yeah for sure! Will make sure to do some before and after shots...

^You might want to get some before & after measurement too, while your at it :)

Regards
Mr Turbo

Good idea!

Wheel arch height and sill height...

Just took a reading of 2cm for the rear left hand side, top of the tyre to arch!

The other side is at 6cm and both the fronts are higher than 9cm.
