Bigcat's Journal

Hi guys,

Been lurking on here for a while so finally decided to register seeing as there is such good info on here :)

I'm on my second XT, this one being owned since 08. It was lowered when I bought it but I found it to scrape a fair bit on the 19's so I raised it back to stock. Then treated it to a 3inch turbo back and a Verso tune, a resinatorectomy and a K&N. It knocks out 230hp at all four wheels, which is fine for me. The rims are 19x8 HP designs in shadow chrome, plastidipped matt black. I really like them in black so I'll get them repainted/powder coated satin black soon.

Just last weekend we went up to Lancelin and Wedge for a couple of days. Got the Foz up on the dunes and on the beach for a blast. Those 245/40/19 tyres aren't really suitable for offroad and I think my stockie suspension is probably dead after 250K kilometres so I'm looking at a spare set of rims with General or BFG ATs and perhaps a 35mm Kings/KYB lift. Also got a custom light bar/skid plate on the cards similar to Rally Innovations that I want fabricated and a re-tint.

Nice to be here anyway! Great site :)

We met up just off the freeway and while we were chatting a tow truck reversed up thinking we must have broken down. Just as he got to us we drove off

Well finally got round to testing how she goes with her new legs, now I've got over that flu. Had a look on the net for a decent day out and found Wilbinga north of Perth. Followed the directions along a very long straight corrugated road and ended up coming across some very narrow steep rutted soft sand tracks as we got closer to the coast. Let the tyres down and off she went!

I must say I'm pretty surprised at how she did, although I had to take a couple of runs at some of the steep stuff. I was beginning to worry about the trip back but after a quick walk on the beach we got mildly lost for a few mins and found the main track up from Two Rocks, which was practically a freeway compared to the stuff we entered on. Some guy in a Navara was quite surprised when we told him which way we came in.

So all in all I'm well chuffed. The old girl (the car) did a top job, we got something cool to do on the weekends and the little man loves the bouncy tracks  So glad I decided to "off road" the car rather than selling it.

Just waiting for wheels now....

Specs: Enkei EDR9 16x7 ET38

Looks heaps better IMO and the car seems a bit more responsive with the lighter wheels on. :discomonkey:
