NachaLuva's Body Lift

Gidday NL

How is Oswina handling with all that lift now?

Hopefully easier to do than it looked!

Impressive!! Or is awesome a better word for this?
Your sure you don't want to bring detailed drawings to make this kit on the market? I am interested for sure..

What a difference :)
Looks fantastic NachaLuva :raz:

Welcome to the higher than average clubmate

Regards
Mr Turbo

Wow Nacha! Clearance for sure. What a change and a nicely thought out kit, great job.

Nice work man !!
DIY is the most satisfying of all car mods I reckon ?!
Specially when the results turn out this good

Thanks guys, pretty happy with it. Still have some sorting out to do. Not very happy with the original kit:

*All bolts non-zinc plated - guaranteed to rust & seize
*Wrong size bolts
*Wrong size split washer
*Missing bolts
*Missing nuts
*Bolts on strut top welded in at an angle! Had to file strut tower to make them fit
*Crush tubes too short so blocks have crushed slightly on fitting
*Kit incomplete: no blocks for moustache bar supports, also heat shield or radiator hose extension
*Poor advice on fitting

:huh::yell::furious:

General quality of the kit was poor, similar to the sumpguard I got from the same place:
*Weld lifted on the bend join (no penetration)
*Front mounting hole in wrong position
*Front lip not wide enough so when I filed out the hole it came out the side
*Poor design: the front lip acts as a scoop, result is it bends out making it a worse scoop

I also got a replacement steering extension from him...he charged me $20 for postage yet it only cost him $6.

Where's the negative feedback button! :shake::yell:

Nice job Nachaluva, your wheels seem tiny now !

Could you make a picture from the steering extension? Thats a part i don't understand.

For the rest i am only a bit jealous....

How much lift does this kit give? in other words, how long are the blocks monted on the shocks? 4inch?

Haha yeah they do look small now lol :iconwink:

Steering extension:

It fits on the spline coming out of the steering rack.

I think we have the same sump gaurd, mine didn't fit i had to file out all the holes on the dame thing, the rear diff gaurd did fit though and its a chunky thing

It gives a 2" lift without affecting suspension geometry. A higher lift is possible but not legal in Australia, otherwise I'd probably be doing it lol :lildevil:

Dont you have raised kings NachaLuva? If so you are already illegal.... Oh and also if you have bigger than stock tyres you are also already illegal even without the kings... The law sucks :(

I've been working on a 1" body lift kit to replace my 2" kit, but keeping the 2" strut top blocks. This will give me an extra 1" ground clearance, esp under the engine.

I decided to go with alloy for most of the blocks (still using steel for the rear trailing arm & LCA blocks so they can be welded together for stability/strength). I'm using 6061 T651 alloy....damn thats hard s**t! Not at all like your standard alloy which dents easily...that would be no good as it would compress under load. This stuff is hard as nails & it blew the motor on my drop saw!

:(

Drilling it wasnt too bad though. Getting the saw motor field replaced & hope to have it done within a few weeks

Strut top lift kit finished. The powder coating came out very nice
