Guide to 15" Audi rims that fit over Subaru 4 pot brake

Cheers for the welcome. I am a long time member of ausubaru.com and I did join this forum when it first started but I couldn't see the point in the 2 separate forums so i didn't stick around.

This site has grown into a wealth of knowledge so its about time I got on board again!

Happy to help out with the rims. I have had plenty of good tipoffs from forum members so good to give back when you can.

Edit: that said if anyone comes across a set of 5 please let me know ;)

yeah thanks heaps for the tip off. Venom managed to land em for $50 each!

Will keep my eyes open for another set in Melb and will let you know.

Nice work. Realistically that is all they are worth but you did well to get them from a wrecker for that.

If I have to pay more than a few hundred for a set I will probably just pick up a cheap set of 16" GT forester alloys. I Dont really want to go to 16's but at least there is no stuffing round with lug nuts and hub spacers that way.

Until I found this thread I always thought the wheels on Stuart's brumby were some expensive rally wheels! You don't get a much better reference than surviving multiple Finke desert races (although he did crack one last year)

Sick vehicle. But yeah that's them. Venom and I have sets available with centres and ball seat lug nuts for $1000 for 6 wheels.

Just kidding.

Good news: I scored a set of 5 of these rims today  Damn they are light!

Bad news: I'm not sure what the correct size wheel nut is for these rims.

I got bugger all info when searching for R12 wheel nuts for Audi, so I then looked into what ball seat lug nuts are and found there is amongst other sizes R12, R13 and R14. This refers to the radius of the "ball" that is machined into the rim.

or google "R13 audi wheel"

I will clean the rims up tomorrow and see if I can measure them accurately. In the meantime I have sent an email to a heap of suppliers asking this question so hopefully one of them has some good information.

well done!

Venom scored some lug nuts at quite a price for his. He could have the spec.

I'll measure the diameter of the conversion washers I have. That might help.

Also, give Mr Lugnut a try.

also, when it comes to cleaning them, try this stuff:

and

https://www.waxit.com.au/index.php?...t_id=232&category_id=13&option=com_virtuemart

its great for removing heavy deposits of brake dust. A tip: use it before you use any other cleaner. It is heaps more effective that way.

Where are you all getting them from!!?! I'm looking everywhere :poke: I did see a set in person on a stock Gen 2 Lib yesterday, first time i've seen them. They are pretty nice actually

tuckerbag: I will be bringing in some wheel nuts form the US sometime soon. If you are interested in a set let me know.

I measured my wheels yesterday and the diameter of the ball machined in the rim appears to be 24mm. Looks like R12 is correct after all. So much misinformation on the internet!

Tried the honda ball seat wheel nut on today, it is smaller then the wheel seat
Dont know what size the honda is.

Vincentvega: let me know what you find, i couldnt find anything on the wheel nut.

Regards,

I am pretty confident the R12 wheel nuts Venom is using are correct. I will wait a few days to hear back from all the suppliers I contacted then let you know what I have come up with.

Found the suplier in sydney for ball seat 19 hex 12x1.25 but they dont have the the stock until a month later. Only concern is they just say ball seat but no diameter.

@venom: could you measure your wheel nut and post the specs? Thank you for doing that.
