Greasy_Rocks

So far the Forester has done 99% of what I've asked and has shed only a few bits and pieces. It's finally time to do some real mods and get prepared for alot of seat/woods time this Spring though.:monkeydance:

I started with a stock '99 w/ 140,000 miles, stock except for the full coverage hail damage.

Since then we've,
Changed all the fluids and filters.
Full tune up.
Replaced the steering rack.
Added the basket and tinted the glass.
Drove the **** out of it and replaced that shine with redneck pinstripin'.

Lift, springs, struts and tires are at the top of the list.

Were they on it when you bought it? I've never seen them before. Doesn't seem like something that's really necessary on the Foresters, that's a pretty solid part of the car anyway.

Yep they were already on the car when I got it last fall, they were a factory add-on. Apparently the lady :rotfl: that ordered this car back in '98 checked alot of the boxes!
Are the sliders needed? Lil' bit. I'll post some video of field cars that I've destroyed over the years, everyone of them went to the scrapper with arched rocker panels.:lildevil:

Looks vulnerable.

We reinstalled the old strut and ordered 4 new bump stops, I figured there's no reason to put the old ones back in. They should have been ordered with the rest of the parts, they'll be here tomorrow morning.

Agree - great bash plate porn for sure :iconwink:

All of the new protection gear & mods look fantastic :raz:

Looks good man, just a fyi try to stay away from the rocks or you might want to get some recessed bolts because rocks tend to shear off bold heads making removing that skid a pita

Thanks!
You're right on the $ about the bolt heads I think. There's no way to "stay away from the rocks" here though, its guaranteed that they will be vulnerable and likely buggered up in short order. I'm not sure why Primitive doesn't do the bolts different. Maybe they haven't been an issue? The thick steel skid on the jeep is better than aluminum for recessing the bolts maybe?
Recessed would def be alot better....

The skid plates look awesome :lildevil:

New springs & struts :woohoo:

Thanks Nach!
And the struts & springs are now on!! :monkeydance:
